If i remember correctly the Desert Ranger Armor is pre-war military-police armor that was simply favored by the Desert Rangers

I was about to write this myself but yes you are correct it was used by military and police as riot gear as a alternative due to low reserves of power armor due to most being sent to the east coast and on the front in China.

It is honestly far more likely that the Chinese didn't have this great robot, and that what we see is just propaganda to convince the public to let the US government create Liberty Prime. As for the power armor, it is also more likely that they just captured a few frames, made their own armor, then didn't get to finish it before the bombs dropped.

I assumed the Chinese used the "Spy Sneaking Suit" for the elites Spec Ops to disrupt enemy line. Meanwhile in FO lore, the Chinese still used the normal "Human Wave attack" with normal infantry without any fancy Power Armors. Think Operation Anchorage was basically based on the Korean War.

It would work alot like how America ended up creating the nuclear bomb. The nazis had written nuclear theories off as "jewish science" but thanks to a nudge of convincing and advocacy, the USA rushed to fund a project involving nuclear power. They kept the ultimate goal secret of course, but even when spies revealed any attempt the nazis were working on a nuke had almost entirely halted by 1943... America pushed on assuming that they could have it any day.

The robot on the poster is a personification of the "Chinese war MACHINE". It doesn't mean that there is a giant Chinese robot, it was just supposed to look imposing and fit the message. When it comes to power armour it most likely exists, the way that the US copied the stealth suits. The chinese power armor in 76 has a description stating it is well onpar with T-45 and its was to late to effect the war wich i like the idea of cause it could imply they captured a frame or two
@Robb1977
@Robb1977 8 дней назад
I feel like it makes the most sense for it to be retro-fit T-45. Keep the frame, and up-armor it, or modify the armor and gear to be more compatible with your tech. Maybe they actually captured some T-51 sets, but couldnt meet the power demand? It could also be made by infiltrators: an attempt to go toe-toe with American Power armor, or more likely: provide an edge over the softer targets in NBC gear.

I think the PLA had limited amounts of power armor. I also think they had the big bots first. They had tanks and that ion field in Anchorage. There’s also way too much PLA surplus uniforms and weapons in the DC wasteland to assume the war was going to end anyway. The US were also using a full force of power armored marines in China by the end also. Makes sense that the power armor was reverse engineered by the Chinese, and subsequently Liberty Prime was reverse engineered from PLA Prime. I think the PLA hit Anchorage gun batteries hard with their big bots first, which caused them to lose a handful but allowed their massive infantry and tank reserves to push way deeper than they could’ve without. In the process of creating a two front war the PLA failed to withdraw the remains of their big bots which were destroyed or damaged. Thus they were captured and the US tried to build their own. But by the time the LP program had any margin of success it was way too late, and by the time the Chinese had began production of their power armor to throw off the US invasion, it was also too late. Power armor marine battalions were outside Beijing and the PLA was literally in DC with submarine artillery on standby. Kind of sad but both sides probably pushed the button at the same time out of panic and paranoia realizing the end was near without any retaliation at all.

Chinese Power Armor could like Germany making the MP 3008 which was a German last ditch submachine gun manufactured towards the end of World War II in early 1945. The weapon was blatantly a rip off Sten Mk II submachine gun, except for its vertical magazine; some had additional pistol grips. Essentially they took the most basic no frills SMG design made by Britain and copied it virtually identically, bar a few minor alterations. It was reverse engineering from captured Stens. I imagine a lab in China with captured T-45s and 51s, all dismantled.

Highly unlikely, due to one major factor. Liberty Prime himself was considered a failed project for his time, Pre-War. It was only during the events of Fallout 3 that Doctor Li managed to solve the massive problem of Prime's power consumption needs that the project was later salvaged and ultimately successful.

In my own headcanon, Chinese power armor was based on stolen designs for T-49 , ( the Storytellers armor. ) T-49 was developed as way of addressing many of t-45s flaws, using lighter metal alloys and other refinements. Only a few prototypes of T-49 were initially built, but in the end, T-49 was not put into full production due to infiltration and espionage at West-Tek, compromising the design and exposing flaws to the Chinese. T-49 was only meant as a stopgap between T-45 and T-51 whilst the poly-laminate composite armour was in development , but it did yield some reults. Improvements made to T-49 were put into upgraded T-45 models and much of T-49 was used as the basis for T-60. Some later revised T-49 models were developed for consideration in use by the Marines, but this plan wasn't put into action after the bombs dropped in 2077 .

It’s a modified blueprint for the excavator suit factory you use in one of the quests, and it wasn’t finished in time to be used on the commander. It went over several revisions, including one that had the hat built onto the helmet, a more obviously excavator one, and a liberator inspired look- possibly made from Excavators/Liberator parts.”

The release of Chinese power armor whether it is Canon or not shows you some of their capability, if it was introduced by then it was probably in limited quantities and more towards the end of the war. But lets actually be honest the Chinese stealth suit technology-wise is extremely advanced and probably extremely expensive. As a matter of fact America's stealth boy technologies, even the mark 3 version were nowhere near its level of sophistication. To me if they are capable of manufacturing these things then they are capable of manufacturing a liberty prime rip-off, it would just be a matter of being willing to spend the money. They certainly have a larger manufacturing capability at least when it comes to manpower. So they should be able to build things relatively quickly. Fallout 76 is also definitely canon, with all of its storyline aspects along with lore friendly material are canon. There is several non-canon edition still like the NCR uniform for role-playing reasons but those are to be taken as such

7:38 before I hear the rest. Maybe a possible explanation is that the Chinese had expanded their influence into the ruins of Europe and the Middle East(by a certain point they were no longer in the game right after a war). And they say war is the mother of invention, what if China being actually connected to the two by a landmass(I mean ignore for a second that asia and Europe are different continents. And look at them as one massive land mass). Who’s going to argue with the Chinese army if they decided to pick over the remains? No one that’s who. Many European countries in our world are known for their mechanical engineering knowledge. The Germans, the British and the French may have had something brewing that fallout hasn’t covered. Once they fall into ruins, it’d be easy for China to quietly move in and take the best stuff. Maybe the reason America knows what these giant robots look like is they were taken from the remains of Europe. The Middle East may have also been developing things, maybe the war between the two was similar to the war between China and America where one side favoured overwhelming power while the other favoured stealth tactics. Again this maybe only a guess and I’m meaning no disrespect to any country I named. But with oil being a limited resource in the fallout world any technology advantage the Chinese could have gained is just common sense.

76 is not a simulation, other players aren't canon, only your own story is. Seen in that lens, it is no different than the other games. The Ranger armor is Pre-war police riot gear, and it is specifically shown that way, it even have the Charleston Police Department label that clearly sets it as NOT being NCR armor. We see other things that hint that the Prime robot could be real, such as the fact that the Chinese are indeed skilled in robotics, and the Liberator robots are good examples of this. Since the T-45 was deployed in 2067, it makes sense that the Chinese would have their own by now, especially due to the level of infiltration they have undertaken. Heck, Chinese communist agents are still active in the era of 76. The big robots as you mentioned would be used on the frontline, so you wouldn't see them unless we went to China itself.

Well, liberty prime was a mothballed resource intensive failure that was a poor fit for the canonical resource war. As such, the giant robot was put in cold storage, and assets diverted to more sustainable assets like power armour. Liberty prime was only ever deployed by the brotherhood of steel, who recovered the non functional machine and completed its manufacture years after the fact. In effect, liberty prime was really more of a propaganda tool than a military asset. Given that in lore, the Chinese were even more desperate for fuel than even the Americans, they were less well suited to deploy technological material to the battlfield than they were to utilise intelligence & man power assets. Given the nature of the conflict that is actually a more advantageous place to be in strategically, if not tatically. It might even be the inspiration behind ceasars choice to deploy melee units in new Vegas (although in that case its definately a mistake. Different conflict, differentsituations etc.) As such It would take a major retcon to make giant Chinese robots and powered armour more than American propoganda designed to stir up fear of the red menace in the american population at home. (Inkeeping with the franchises persistant social engineering themes) More practically, the Chinese are more effective within the setting if they aren't dependent on resource intensive weaponry, putting additional logistical burden on their deployments. Hypothetically long term projections by the Americans might well have even predicted a first strike nuclear escalation was their only chance for victory long term as their own resource intensive military became increasingly starved of resources whilst the chinese maintained the same level of operational efficiency. In short if any sides strategy revolved around resource driven experimental robotic assets and they ran out of fuel? broke down, or were otherwise immobilised? Pack it up, boys. Offensives over. Try not to get captured. Big robots and vehicals were technologically possible within the setting but ultimately impractical. The US recognised this and put prime on ice. I imagine that the Chinese would to. That being said fallout is leaning more rustpunk fantasy and less post apocalypse sci-fi with every release so expect to see a nonsense rule of cool, rock em sock em retconne next dlc I guess. 🤔

If you were a pre launch through to NPC incorporation, playing 76, then NO it is not a simulation. It was literally what it was. Vault dwellers opening into the world shortly after the bombs. The world was as we made it. NPC’s ruined that and muddled everything! No longer canon after that. Or little that has much importance.

Liberty Prime is nice and moderately big, but he's no Gypsy Danger or real Mech. It shouldn't have been that hard to make him or that costly. Look at the cost of a Modern carrier or other large ship. Liberty Prime, if given another decade of war, would almost certain be one of very many.

I wouldn't put it past them to reuse some of these designs if we get a Fallout in China or are invaded by them on a larger scale, etc. One dev claimed we shouldn't dig too deeply into Creation Club and Atom Store items, though, they're really just for fun and not indicative of anything. I believe questioned the validity and reason for continuity, lore and canon, which is a retarded question for a writer in a game company that makes signle-player experiences to ask, so maybe don't listen to what he has to say at all?

well if i was chinese and wanted to have an ace up my sleeve during the great war i would bioengineer a literal dragon or as close as i could get in existing nature. i mean mutating strange lizards into a kaiju is first of all just straight up cool. it's a meaningful, powerful creature with lots of symbolism attached in chinese mythology. so it would probably inspire the chinese soldiers and then on the other side the americans have to fight a dragon. also and then, the ancient enemy the japanese would crap their pants with crap and crap their hearts with terror if the heard we had a godzilla to bare against them.
@lenski8306
@lenski8306 Месяц назад
I don't totally remember but i think that the communist power armor used in fallout 76's daily ops might be a try or a push in the direction to compete with american power armor. Think of how France tried to motorize it's army but took so much time that they were underprepared when germany attacked. Probably a good 3 years more for France and they could have compete with germany. Now, use the same logic and chinese power armor make sense but were probably not numerous enough to compete with the American army and the one created may be based on older model of american's due to some stolen plans. Also, probably the giant chinese robot might follow the same logic as more or less existing one or two and the american saw it and went full "we have to build our own army of these !" If there ever was a certain number or giant chinese robot, the places they were stationned were certaintly among the first targets. As we see with liberty prime, one giant robot is cool but it become a giant target and while having one is a giant moral boost, loosing one is a disaster for the ground troops. So, they may have been used as protector of giant cities or meant to fight among soldiers already fighting for their life who wouldn't retreat

The fo76 sim theory came out of nowhere, I've never heard that till now and i personally disagree. I think the ranger armor is probably just a cosmetic but in lore I'd say the reason would probably be that the NCR ranger armor is probably based off or actual suits if pre war military armor that we just haven't seen before the NCR uses it

Numerous fallout 76 cosmetics are stated to be non canon by the devs, the chinese power armor, the dolphin power armor, the fucking armor that turns you into a zetan, the liberty prime armor. safe to say the ncr ranger armor is just a bonus cash shop item for subbing to the game, as far as I'm aware the NCR ranger armor, and it's cosmetic skin is in the same boat as those armors, until we see an non camp-companion npc sporting them.

Frog it! I DELETED MY OWN COMMENT BECAUSE IM A GENIUS! Ok I just mentioned that in ww2 posters with oversized people where common such as a guy with googles dropping melting metal wich transforms into bombers and sadly América didn't deployed giant dudes with googles in ww2. But Fallout being fallout it could be that China had gigantic robots. And now the interesting part that I deleted just a moment ago: Well China and the Urss experienced real problems I'm the cold war such as the sino/soviet war wich was a limited conflict between the two wich actually changed the production of chinese military hardware till that moment. Because China obviously didn't wanted to relay more on the soviet union to produce tanks, jets, bombers... not because they dislike soviet ones on the contrary, but because for each soviet under licensed product developed in China soviet engineers, and osververs have to be there, so that would allow the soviet union to know how many of each thing they have in their army. And China didn't liked that. On the other hand the soviet union was nervous due to China could expand their sphere of influence to Mongolia and the soviet union frontier, and the Soviets know that the chinese had a lot of tanks and jets but overall they have a lot of chinese dudes. And chinese dudes, angry Chinese dudes, where as problematic as soviet angry dudes. So a lot of soviet (we would say obsolete) material was deployed (in the real life) on the frontier with China such as: maxim water refrigerated Machine guns: Because water jacket machine guns such as the Vikers or the maxim can shoot according to ww1 experience and some tests wich the brits and Soviets do on the cold war almost indefinitely. The brits connected the water jacket of a vikers to a water deposit and the bullets belt to a giant crate of ammunition and I guess they make the thing to shoot almost like 3 days without stopping till they actually stop the machine gun. So the Soviets knew that the chinese such as themselves would attack using artillery, and human waves and deployed almost every maxim (in the 50s till the 90s) to the chinese border. Same happened with Tanks such as the heavy tanks of the IS family of tanks, both used as turret bunkers or as an indirect artillery 122 mm cannon can mess your day pretty hard. On the other side chinese goverment Did almost the same and also created underground facilities and Tunnels to maintain steam trains because they considered that a war like that would deploy nuclear weapons sooner or later so they decided that steam trains was an old tech but reliable enough and easy to patch or fix with limited resources. So inmense underground warehouses were dig to fix da trains. So now in fallout again: I think that China and also the soviet union maybe have problems also because the same. Amd actually if the chinese desperate invaded alaska I could think that having closer the soviet union mainland with their natural resources maybe experienced some trouble also. And we have to add that we have also Mongolia, India, and Vietnam (wich apparently the us win in fallout the war there) so I think that heavy hardware such as heavy tanks, super heavy tanks, giant robots and all of this things have more sense deployed there due to logistics than in the US. It happened the same with the US in ww2 a lot of cool heavy tanks was designed in the US but when it comes to ship a big new tank to Europe or the Pacific each single ton of new tank you send its a ton of equipment that its more necessary such as food or spare parts that its not been sended to the front. Fallout it's quite messy such as reality, and of course we know the Sino/american war, but also the us invaded Canada and apparently some parts of Mexico, maybe something similar happened with China and other countries surrounding China. Sorry for my English, and I hope this time to not delete this comment by accident!
