Ah, well I've only lived here for about 7 years and Edge Lane has evolved during that time. Point in case is that the exit the Police car came from had been from the Fruit & Veg Market / industrial units. Now, half of that area is a new Police compound mainly for fleet vehicle maintenance - (was never sure why they couldn't use Kwik-Fit and Halfords like the rest of us!) Slightly further up the road, the old Binns Road Industrial estate has now become a retail park accessible via Edge Lane. And again, at the top of the hill, another retail park! Going the other way back into Liverpool, sadly, the old Litttlewoods Building continues to decay - hastened by the extensive fire there about 3 years ago. Just on that road there has been plenty of changes!
@@RiverMersey My time there was....some decades ago. From what I can see the houses and roads look just the way I remember them and busses are still green. I note the areas around the Pier Head and Albert Dock have since been greatly refurbished / improved. I had become totally fascinated by the unique character of the city, the Scoucer accent, and the fact that sheer friendliness of locals could co-exist with very high criminal rates. Keep posting, it brings back many fond memories.
Many thanks for your kind encouragement! For a little while, I've not really been posting much content in relation to locations of Merseyside as I seem to have covered most of the prominent areas. Your response to these 2 short clips of simply driving the streets might well have reignited my interest in posting local locations and events! May I suggest you follow the link in the description of my video to a very generous Liverpool driving instructor channel who uses many events from lessons on Liverpool roads as teaching material. Even though I have been driving with a clean licence for many years, I'm still learning from Ashley Neal! You could be watching Ashley's videos as a source of present-day updates of the Liverpool streets!
