Don't necessarily get the Computer Cart from Uline, check Craigslist or FB Market Place or even an office surplus store as schools and offices frequently replace them.
I thought it was for an vintage Dukane overhead projector, just showing my age as born 1960 or 60 years ago. You might want to change your User Profile name from OldBull to YoungerBull. LOL.
@@kathleenlajoie9785 I'm old enough to remember turning on the tv Saturday morning before fixing a bowl of cereal so the vacuum tubes would have time to warm up before the cartoons started.
That was actually a really rad video. It’s cool that you’re sharing your studio setup and build process. Love your creativity. Well done and it even inspired me to do some cable management!
Ikr the old herniated disc in my back that's always reminding me to be careful picking things up. I just imagined the next day/couple days/ week after moving stuff like that.
@@DiscGolfRoof shit just like my dad, the worst is when you have a damaged back everything goes terrible , because you start forcing your knees, then its your knees that drop down and then its your lombary muscle thats a vicious ring
06:05 God, I love Organized messes, so much cleaner looking than just randomly placing stuff and piling things farther up than they would have to be had it been placed in a more organized matter. 06:40 Someone seriously has to remove the audio from this part where Kyle uses his hand to indicate everything he's talking about and thinking of, then add subtitles with a satirical version of what Kyle's saying, make it something seriously funny and hilarious :P 08:18 Open Cabinet System for the desks/tables that are up against the walls. A Kallax type Shelf Unit from for the side desk/table that's mostly in the open, you'll be able to store things on the shelves and take them out and put them in from both sides, as you have access to the shelf from both sides. Make sure that the cabinets and shelf unit are as close to the same size as your Presentation Desk/Table as you can get them, or use height adjusters for the feet of the shelf units and/or cabinets that need to be higher to be even with everything else surface wise. I think that's what I would have gone for if I were to use that area as a sort of storage area + presentation area. 14:09 Yeah, I'm liking Kyle's layout more than the one I explained just above this line, I think he's definitely onto something good there.
Cool vid. I do however have a suggestion/opinion. I happen to like the lighting from Paul's Hardware videos. Paul's videos for me at least, have a soft tone when it comes to lighting. I personally find industrial fluorescent lights tend to be harsh or tough on the eyes at times. Probably you may want to consider a softer light for future videos? Paul's videos when it comes to lighting is easy on my eyes at least. They have a friendly/homey feel to them lol.
You should invest in a whole building surge protector to protect all of the expensive hardware. Also, some UPS too for things like the networking cabinet and work stations to add extra redundancy.
Most buildings in the last 50 years have whole-building surge protection. That's what fuse boxes and breaker boxes are for. Also the power comes from next door to Kyle where surely it's not just raw electricity being piped in with no regulation. A UPS is never a bad idea for vital hardware - definitely the editing PC needs one. The cabinet could use one too yeah.
The whole wall behind the desk. And the smaller wall on the side of the desk. Should be painted green screen green. That way you can change the background with every episode. You could just have the universe floating in the background. Like that VR desktop app you did a video on. Or perhaps something pertinent to the build you are filming. Or even both.
Man, I just wanna say, I hope you and Wifeysauce are always successful and smiling. Just such God damn wholesome content, was feeling like shit but catching up to your moving vlogs and then being surprised by this part releasing as I'm watching the last one, just made my day. Congrats on 2M subs, here's to at least 8M more 🤗
From when we had a repair shop we always mounted the cableways channels on the wall and left the desks out about four to five inches from the wall. After that, we mounted the long power strips on the wall just above the channel and concealed it all with a piece of aluminum bent over to conceal all but the cords that came through. Not saying you have to do it, just that it worked for us.
Think about a security cage wall for the hardware. The studio is going to be nice. A window between the kitchen/breakroom and studio would have been nice.
@@the_guy_with_yeeyee_a_haircut Yes, I am subbed to a few CCs on Floatplane. I had not heard it was cancelled and as of 2 days ago Bitwit has a new video that has not hit YT yet. I hope Floatplane can take off (no pun intended) so that the CCs that I watch don't have to rely on a broken algorithm and what appears to be a poor strike system that has levied illegitimate strikes and take downs of channels - hurting those channels big time.
Maybe you could do a timeline along the back of your set from when you built your first pc or when you got interested in pcs so you can see how far you've come and how far pcs in general have come
For the design you should try to do a generations of PC thing in the back or you could try to build a system attached to the wall if interested I can send you pictures for the plan.
4:14 wow that was like a really bad copy of some of Linus' segues. Speaking of Segue do you know our sponsor. The EVGA RTX 2060 KO is a dual fan graphics card learn more in the description below
Ok I might be alone here but and hear me out on this one, I saw a bunch of custom water cooling parts in one of those clutter boxes you elegantly ditched in you cupboard. Why not go nuts and do something original like making a custom water loop for your wall then put your pops and some other decorations on the horizontal pipes.... Again it might just be me that likes this but my ocd gets off on the uniform unsystematic mess that is custom loops. If you had any GPU's that are busted that are compatible with water cooling you could also hang them from your loop. PS make sure you set the loop up so you can turn it off easily at the end of the day cause knowingly what you put in your loops it's probably the last thing you want spraying all over your set. Aga out! *Cough cough* pps you should do a new rig for your "hardcore" centre rig, I'm thinking full dark Tower with lots of outside viewing angles and plenty of inbuilt RGB something like that Lian Li Razer edition I saw in the previous video, and why not spice it up with a x570 Xtreme aurus motherboard, though away caution with at least 32gb of 4000 speed ram, to hell with viewer reviews Mr Kyle sir I wanna see them 16 cores and 32 threads and theirs only one chip like that's that's also thirsty for them 4000 speed ram sticks. And brah if I do see an atlas or two of a GPU I will be disappointed, and who care if it's conventional gimme a platinum rated power supply I mean does this rig deserve anything better, also did you say screen display kyle!!! What are you thinking this rig needs to be unique, there may not be and science behind this but I know two too many 12 year Olds with 4 screen displays and all they play is fortnite be the bigger man Kyle, a 2 or 3 ultrawide screen set up stacked one above the other is how you really flex and finally Kyle Kyle Kyle we all know you bought some gen 4 m.2 nvme drives so why don't you bring out the bling. Also as previously mentioned I love custom loops but Kyle this is a "so you thought your hardware is better then mine" don't hide nothing behind bulky water blocks, dont dismantle parts to fix custom water blocks no let us see all of those beautiful components and let us be jealous of oh the rig we can never obtain yet might be able to afford unlike a thread ripper system.
Also for everyone who hasn't read a book or watch/played any Greek mythology title "ATLAS" is the "Titan" doomed to forever hold up the heavens/ world.... Do I sense a fitting name for this rig that holds up our attainable goals yet unrealistic dreams ?.?
Kyle, I love videos like this one, thanks. Also, when you build that 'fake wall, make sure you put some more shelves on the other side of it (a little narrower if necessary) - I guarantee they will be used. I would also do something on the 'Fun side' of your tables with background RGB since your walls appear to be white. Also, this may sound a 'little cheesey' but it would be great to have some sort of digital display on that wall (maybe driven by a Raspberry Pi, showing your live Subscriber and Video (or build) counts always running.
I'm for the idea of the one height adjustable desk you can move where needed! When I redid my home/office/studio (which you roasted on stream), i did a 4ft birch butcher block desk top on monoprice electric desk legs, and put sliders under the feet so I can slide it around the room depending on where/what I want to shoot. It works out super well! Edit: dang, you look pretty tired at the end lol
Hey Kyle I'm in need of PC stuff to use for my new rig if you read this message could you send me old inventory or stuff I'll offer to pay for some stuff if needed. THANKS!!
The second I saw that countertop, I thought "hey, meme table" Personally I have a very simple ikea Linnmon desk for my set up. I don't have anything on top of it except my monitor, k&m, microphone and sound bar. Was looking to upgrade the desk and that's how I knew about the meme table since everybody was doing it. I would second the suggestion of using Home Depot/Hardware to cut you sheets of wood to your measurement. It shouldn't cost much more than the meme desk, but I don't think you can get wood of that quality so...
Just FYI - Veneer is a LAminate - Underside Wood is More than Likely a MDF - Glued Mill Shavings that are Ver y very Absorbant to Liquids = Major Buldges appear Is WEt By Expanmsion due to swelling from water breaking down Glues ! Suggest going to a Wood Mill For Direct REAL WOOD Table tops - slabs of wood can be Cheaper Direct From Wood Mill sites / sales . Yes they are accessible woithoutv going through a Dealer sales Department Like IKEA or even Hopme depot and lowes . Hope this helps with Proper Wooden tops and purchases Reason WHY for my comment = THATS 1 CRAZY ASS PRICE FOR SUCH A TABLE TOP MADE OUT OF SHREEDED GLUED WOOD THAT WILL LOOK LIKE A WHALE IF YOU AQUIRE WETNESS TO ITS CORE !! Kyle you can get a roll around cabinet at Harbor freight for like 60 bucks , you did save your chukee cheese bucks didnt you ? hahaha ,
