Volvo did an amazing job engineering the twin scroll turbo charger to work at nearly any area in the power band. Now that you have tinkered with the original equipment, I’m curious to see if you’ll be able to get everything operating normal-if not-better after your mods. At least it sounds fantastic setting aside the slight drivability issues you’re facing
My experience with my Eight8fab downpipe and Hilton Stage 2 tune on my C70 was similar. I opted for the rear 02 delete which has prevented any check engine lights from coming on. Killed my coilpacks quickly. My next mod is going to be the front mount intercooler and an c02 intercooler spray kit. Don't hear people doing that much anymore but it will fix the heatsoak problem.
With VIDA similar to how you reset the fluid counter after changing the transmission fluid. It didn’t resolve my issues but definitely helped a little bit. I’ve also read a bad diverter valve can play a part and I’m going to replace mine with a GFB here at some point
The cure for mine was replacing my stock TCV with the viva “high performance”. No more hesitation or stutter climbs right up the RPMs and drives like new.
Hey Sam! Thank you so much for the super thanks!!! Appreciate all your support. The wheels I have on there are my winter wheels and they're 19" OZ Racing wheels. I'm not sure of the offset, but they clear the brakes perfectly. There are others that may fit, but I haven't looked into them a lot. I'm toying with the idea of rolling my fenders, cutting the fender liner, and getting a 255+ tire on another 20 or 21" wheel this year. Need to do a bit of research. There are a lot of wheel threads on the Polestar FB group. I'l try to dig up any info I can find.
@@shiftinglanesgarage thank you so much. I have one of the numbered P* from 2015., I have been watching your channel as well as built for speed. I talked to Robert about tuning my car and we talked about a down pipe. I live in Cook County IL which has mandatory testing. I decided to do everything short of a down pipe. Do88 Intercooler, turbo intake pipe, Elevate Plenum, Elevate coil packs,BMC panel air filter and a Heico piggy back ECU. My butt dino says it's fast but I need to dino or take it to the drag strip. With snow tires I break traction on launch. I have 20" snow tires and have been mounting them on the same original wheels , I was thinking of getting something different in 20" but they are hard to find. I would keep the P* , it's great fun
I was thinking of downpiping my car but I didn't do it because of strict emission testing where I live. A performance catalyst would not cut it. Hilton told me it would not pass in My location. I stuck to the original Polestar Tune and layered a piggy back brain that mods for sensor outputs to the ECU. Added a bigger intercooler, big intake plenum and big turbo intake . I will stick with that, get new wheels and maybe add a trans cooler and call it a day.
