I gotcha hemi. " DUDE WAS A FCKING DORK, A REAL CHEESEBALL. THE GUY WOULDnt STOP TRYING TO SHOVE Playstation contollers up his azz. And always sat down to pee" Is tht accurate enough for ya ??? ;)
I like how TK ends up sharing a past experience about somebody else, he’s always humbly over stoked and really into it seemingly more than the concerned person he’s speaking of It’s a shame there isn’t much TK footy out cause the dude has a nice personality and you can see that he genuinely loves skateboarding
God damn arto is one of my all time favorites. He's an absolute legend. He is so smooth and makes everything he lands look basic and easy. All of his parts are GOLD
funny part was, i just wanted to watch a my war because i remembered arto was in one. didn't even remember it was a back lip lol. but damn, fast forward to now and its pretty wild to think about
My first kickflip took me 3 months ( almost the entire summer of 1994) standing still on a side walk crack stationary n kick down. But when i landed it the first time, it was all over after tht. I had tht aht down n progressed into a real kickflip fairly quickly.
Muchas gracias for the series, Thrasher Mag. So good to see skateboarding is advancing in ways. May I request that you produce a clean version for the ears of children? thanks
I think Arto ushered in a new era in skateboarding. I remember when he kickflip back tailed the tall ledge at the world championship contest in Munster in 98 and thinking it was the biggest thing I had ever seen, and then he went on to do things like this.
It's crazy, I didn't really care for his Mindfield part, but I read this videos description before the video loaded and instantly knew the spot and trick. Amazing that Skateboarding can really burn some dope moments into memory.
I wish you well and hope you find courage to fight your own battles. We all make mistakes. Forgive yourself first TK. Keep growing in the big house. Be waiting outside for you.
No way. Terry kennedy was at my local park two weeks ago. I didn't know he was a big skater. He said that it was his job he just introduced himself as terry. Thats crazy that I just saw him on a thrasher video 😂 such a nice guy tho
Terry is 1000% right, it looks soo much better how he lands it n rolls off with the FRONT wheels starting to come up. Gives it EXTRA STYLE. Gives it That TRUE GRIT
lmao you probably barely started skating cause Arto has been out for a while and everyone knew and had his lightweight shoes thos etnies with the two pine trees on the tounge good ol times that was like 10 years ago FUCK 😔😊
That was so sick. It's also really sad to see that Arto's concussed himself so much that he doesn't skate much anymore. He probably cruises and does chill mini ramp stuff, but nothing like this anymore. He's only 34.
I remember having (sorry) by flip when I was like 10 .. it was a yellow tape , a little beat up , my sisters bf gave it to me.. Arto Saari's part Till this day is my personal favorite along with Ali boulala. 🍄🍄🍄
I was also there this day. Coincidentally of course. It seriously took him no more than 10 tries. I just remember being in awe sitting next to AVE. He might have been in more awe than me, great day.
Nick Benza it takes such a large amount of energy and a strong mental game to even do one of those attempts. The dude could be lying but I would totally believe somebody trying once and then taking half an hour to recoup. Maybe at the beginning once he got psyched he was doing one after the other but probably he needed a breath each time to avoid getting destroyed.
Back Lip on a flat rail is the best I could do. Backside Lipslide are SCARY man. It's one thing to boardslide backwards, it's a whole nother thing only , get your back wheel over the rail and then slide backwards. Arto does it on a kinked rail!
Spent 3 hours trying hitting my local skatepark kinked rail.... made it out super sketch ... never again will I try... but I understand that feeling of going and going and going even after your broken...
I love how Terry talks because Arto is finnish and speaking alot isn't common for Finns and speaking highly of yourself (even though he did something Amazing) is taboo in the finnish community. Similar to how Kimi Riakonnen will win a F1 championship and reporters ask how it feels and he will say "Good"
I remember showing all my friends my brand new phone and then dropping on that staircase. Needless to say, I got really fucking surprised this was filmed at my Junior High. Good times.
