i remember this well... i did 9 months of chemo and 5 weeks radiation for stage 4 ovarian cancer back in 2009-2011... mine was the harshes mix of chemo you can do , taxol and carboplatin .... i was bald from head to toe and the pain from the chemo was unreal... but im now nearly 7 years cancer free :) im praying for you and if you need a shoulder or any advice im here...

I love your mom so much, she’s awesome! I can’t imagine how hard it must be for her to watch one of her baby’s go through all that you are, yet she stays so positive for you. Courtney, watching you go through this has inspired me to finally quit smoking. I'm sorry you're going through this of no fault of your own and watching what you're going through makes it seem ridiculous for me to do this to myself.

Sweet sweet mama! I don’t know how you do it. I know as my girls are in their 20’s and so full of life and possibility that I would want to take any pain away like what Courtney is going through. And I know you are just aching inside. I’m so sorry you beautiful ladies are going through this. Your girl is just amazing and I so appreciate you letting us in on this journey. Chemo is the worst. I had it for about 3 months and threw up at least once a week. I couldn't even walk for 10 minutes. It messes with your psychological well-being too - major depression. My heart goes out to every person that has to go through this in their lives, especially while still young.

Hi Yael! It really depends on what chemo regimen it is. The best bet is to join a community for the specific type of cancer and read the message boards for tips. I had breast cancer (I was 31 - I'm now 37 and doing well) and found breastcancer.org the best resource. There were so many tips from ladies that the oncologists forget to mention. It's also reassuring to be able to see that others have felt the same way. I think my biggest tip regardless of the type of cancer is to be kind to yourself, be patient with yourself, and allow yourself to cry (as Court does so often!) I hope that your sister has an easy time of it - some people breeze through! :) Oh, and if she is facing hair loss there are these things called "cold caps" which a lot of women have success with. Again, that doesn't work for all chemo and not all chemo causes hair loss. XOXO

Courtney I love you and your mom! For some reason seeing you and your mom not doing so well made me sad. It just reminds me of my mom who passed away from ovarian cancer 17 years ago to the day. I love her and miss her everyday. It's just hard to watch you and anyone who has to go through cancer and chemo after watching what it did to my mom, with making her so sick. I love you and I'm glad to see you feel better after chemo week is over.

Dogs are so naturally therapeutic and they instinctively know when we are sick or sad. They are truly our best friends! Someday you will put all this behind you and be stronger in the long run and may be able to help others going through the same thing.

Hey Courtney, you your mom and Lola are an amazing trio! I'm in medical field, and give infusions to patients. They're not cancer patients but some of the meds are chemo. I too, take infusion every 4wks. for severe RA I've had since age 21. You have an incredible support team there at home. Your mom is a GEM!!! SHINY SPARKLING GEM! BLESS HER HEART! And... YOU ARE SUCH A TROOPER GIRL!!! So STRONG. And, Lola is such a LOVE. Hang in there sweetheart, prayers for you all. Love and Hugs too!
It is great to see a mom and daughter have such a loving relationship. I did not always have a great relationship with my mom but our relationship is like you and your mom now. And yes dogs always know mine can always sense when I am about to have a seizure and will stay with me and the duration of the seizure..I know the Chemo sucks I was there for my Aunt and her daughter as they battled Cancer together finding out just a few weeks apart they both had Cancer...Kick Cancers Ass...You are an inspiration 💛💛

Sometimes I wish I could take pain and yucky situations away from people. My mum always used to tell me if you smile it means someone’s thinking of you, you would be full of smiles because you’re always in my thoughts. 💓
