I used to think, "I'll do that when I get skinny" too. You've shown so many people that life is to be lived no matter your size. Moments of Joy and Awe in nature are so beneficial to our hearts and minds. Love watching your adventures! I got bit by a mosquito when I was in the farthest reaches of the north. That was quite unexpected.

Hey Cory, I just found your channel and can't help but notice the striking similarities between us. I too started at over 400 lbs, wearing a 4XL, pushing 5XL, and decided to make a change and started hiking in December 2020. Here we are 9 months later now and I'm ~60-ish pounds down, can fit comfortably into a 3XL and could probably squeeze into a 2XL. Seeing how far you've come since that first day on the PCT in so inspirational and you better believe I'm gonna follow you every step you take! Keep pushin' brother!

You look amazing, and happy! Positive reinforcement is so important, and can mean the difference between succeeding in something or failing. Kudos to you for recognizing that you needed help such as a dietician and therapist and sought out good people to get you on track. I've found so many people in the hiking community to be incredibly supportive of anyone wanting to get out into nature and get more fit/lose weight. Many are a huge inspiration to others to do the same. I am on a weight loss journey myself, and have lost about 35 lbs so far. I used to wear a 2x or even a 3x in shirts, and I'm starting to get into XL sizing now. I know exactly how exciting it is to be able to do that! I wish you the best!!

You had a lot of setbacks when I sat down and watched your first PCT video until you finished it. I remember the accomplishments too. So many accomplishments. Finding love and friendship on the trail. Your first trip out of the country. The road trip back to the PCT. Changing the minds and hearts of your friends and family back home. And now... You've been to Germany and Croatia (?) and now up in Canada! Good for you Corey! The PCT hike was such a good decision. I really think it jump started your determination to focus on your health, physically and mentally. Not only did you lose weight that year but by the end of your hike that year you had changed so much. So much healthier looking. And it was clear that your confidence levels were much higher. Comparing your videos in the beginning to the later ones you can see a huge difference. Good job in learning to make better food and activity choices that make you not feel deprived. I love potato chips but also pickles. But the difference is that after I eat chips I feel lethargic but after pickles I’m just as satisfied but not lethargic. I love pasta but I got smaller plates and I do half zoodles and half noodles and it’s just as satisfying but I feel much better afterwards. I’ve learned to look at carb content on foods, not fat content. And choosing good fats vs bad fats. But mostly looking at carbs.

Congrats! Would love to see a video or quick chat about what a typical day of food for you looks like - breakfasts, snackos, lunch, dinner…. Treats?
