Head canon: the tanks and tech on the roof are the saloon’s on-site distillery. Non-synthetic whiskey is worth a mint in these parts and bandits are always on the lookout for unwary delivery drivers.
Interrupting my binge marathon RULES OF ENGAGEMENT for this, and I LOVE Rules of Engagement!!! Is it just me, or is the roof screaming for a drone landing pad?
@@UnexpectedCreativeStudios Enresult looks beyond awesome though. I always take things abit over the top :p maybe less is more. Got also carried away because I recently watched treasure planet again...
That was so awesome, an amazing build. There should be a production based on your western Sci-fi concept. I’d watch that.Would love to see a “Sheriff’s” office. Build.
Love the concept of an entire town! Challenge to you: When there's pipe, there are valves! That guy with the sledge should be banging on a stuck valve! Next project try your hand and some monster valve bodies! Keep 'er movin'.
@@erc3338 Not as many "happy little trees" in Boylei's videos. Other than that, the same little happy accidents and supreme talent that make both of their stuff legendary and inspirational.
I'd love to see a sort of futuristic ranch, where cowboys are trying to wrangle cyber buffalo or horses of some sort! Keep up the fantastic work, man! Loving this series!
Or maybe six-legged hybrid cows or something like giant chickens...🤔 His stagecoach diorama had me thinking of mixing in different scale animals that were the size of cars with the normal people and horses.
I wish I had the talent to even attempt something like this. This world you are building is gonna be amazing to look at when it's finished. My Sunday is complete now you have uploaded.
don't know if you'll read this but I just started my model building journey and I can say if nothing else its fun and worth the time if you have it with time skills are acquired and you'll improve with every project!
"There I was, having a drink and minding my own business, when outta the corner of my eye I see the town preacher, a rabbi and the friggin Pope walking into the bar, all at the same time. I looked at my half empty glass of whiskey and thought to meself: This oughtta be some kinda joke..."
You should consider getting a tool called “the Chopper”. They’re made by a company called North West Shoreline. They let you easily cut strips of wood and styrene. You can set a stop, so you can make repeat cuts of the same length. Other companies make similar products too. I think they start around $40.
I’m psyched for this project. A jail and/or a sheriff’s office, a general store, a church, a cat house, the mayor’s office, a mining and/or a railroad co., a bank.
It would be hilarious if the "cat house" was staffed by cat people. I don't even know if that's part of Boylei's vision for this fictional world, it just seemed like such an obvious joke to make.
My god. Skills. Loving this series of models. The detail in this piece is insane! I agree with LaserGadgets, I could see a landing pad up on the roof as well but what you've done is great too.
Awesome build Boylei, your Wild Imaginary West series is crying out for a tv series at this point!! I love all the little details you add, they give the structure a real world, lived-in look and the paint and weathering is spot on! To continue on the theme you need to have a Sheriff's office complete with cyborg Sheriff and/or a mechanical horse out front. For another action piece a hover train robbery scene would be amazing!! Great stuff, thanks for sharing, and keep on keeping on!!
You know when you get fed a video in YT ? Sometimes they are vids of no interest and we say 'show me less of this kind of video.' Well, when you do that, it gives that particular video a thumbs down.
I love you work; specially using scrap pieces to create such beautiful scenes. This one got a little bit visually top-heavy. Maybe it was a good idea to add some sci-fi elements to the lower levels to balance it up.
Very nice build, the Si-Fi Saloon looks great, but i see one problems. For a house build from wood the tanks and stuff on the rooftop were way to heavy, that weight will destroy the houes..
awesome looking building. Your Sci-Fi-Western World is coming together! By the way. Have you heard of _Musou Black?_ It's a Black colour that is way darker than Black 3.0. Squidmar has made a video about it some months ago. I thought that could be something for you to paint the bases of you Dioramas.
I absolutely love this. This is not modelbuilding anymore, this is art. I like the contrast between old west and future, you camouflaged it so good that the brain gets fooled for a second. I am a stage-magician and i use the same technique, make the eyes see something that the brain knows is impossible. You have managed to keep that moment frozen in time, absolutely brilliant. How about making one with some indians, a bigfoot and a few aliens sitting around a fire near a space-ship? I am really getting in to this, your ideas are fantastic. You are a good teacher as well. Are they all separate pieces or are you going to join the whole lot into one big display? I look forward to the next one, thank you for making and showing them.
Man this is outstanding Caleb. So cool to watch you just free build the rooftop with all of the tanks and equipment. Everything looks like it belongs there perfectly. This is an amazing addition to your series and they're all so good I don't know which one is my favorite. Can't wait to see what you have in store for this world next! BTW loved how you showed the other three pieces together at the beginning!
It's more Steampunk than ScFi my friend I make this sort of stuff for Cosplay, and I use to make Mini Characters for boardgames good job Boylei nice to see enthusiasm and commentary with humor also. :)
Just curious, is all the hot glue & super glue archival? Will these last indefinitely? They're amazing!!! Keep up the great work & thanks for sharing the process. Your videos calm me.... :)
Wow this western series is great, the saloon is brilliant. I agree with Doug, why would anyone down mark this, just doesn’t make any sense. Just few numpties who can’t appreciate brilliant work I guess 👍
This build gives me like a 'sci-fi bath house' sorta vibes, or the mechanical Mcgubbins on the top could be a water purifying station, "last water before ................ city!"
So awesome. Juts found this channel recently and love it! Only wish this series had some lighting for the buildings; you do such an amazing job with lighting effects.
I'm very late to the party but maybe you can explain two words to me that I can't even figure out the spelling: Greeblies (?) and xenothol (?) highlights. How are they spelled, are they slang or technical language and what do they mean exactly? Love your videos! You're an amazing artist!
I’ve always saved these videos as the last part of my day. Boylifehobby sure has a way of doing an asmr style which helps make sleeping easier but there’s a couple things bothering me on this build If it’s an old western saloon where do people park their horses and they tie down and drink from? In the classic styling of boylifehobby why weren’t the windows cut out and replaced with plastic and some candle lighting inside to mimic it being active even at night? Perhaps a flickering action to mimic classic basic electricity WHERE IS ARTHUR MORGAN
I think the scale dude ought to be named "Doc", after all, Doc Holiday spent the last days of his life just a couple (hundred) miles away from you in Glenwood Springs. ; ] Also, the porch was the sidewalk of the era since all streets were dirt / mud. Not sure if it is factual or not, but a ghost town near Colorado Springs was once claiming the term sidewalk came from the fact that the 'porches' were built beside the buildings. Like I said, may be hogswash. ... Great work, fun project!
Hi, I'm having a wonderful time watching all your builds. Not sure if you will ever see this, but I think the porch on the saloon could be properly called a veranda. Keep up the great work!
I would call the covered walkway in front of the building a veranda But then I'm British and afaik it's a thing and a word that we took from India, so not sure if the Mid West 19th century USA would have used the word. Love the creativity and aesthetic you got going! Great job!
I'm choosing to believe that's home-brew biofuel up there for all the tech in the wild, wild west - or at least to fuel this building. Maybe they sell canisters of it inside?
Need to add a bank, and maybe a corral with a barn, some kinda sci fy farm equipment. Maybe even concept your Mongolian homes into a bash of indigenous/native ppl/aliens.. could always a general store. Anyways just thoughts
It would be neat to create a concept of space Sci-Fi without using materials that we have available on earth, trying to come up with things that could be found on other planets, and what their plants would look like harvested.
Trigun would also fall into that genre. It actually fits pretty much perfectly... There must be a word for this Steampunk sub genre. (I hope it's Space Western)
I'm still trying to figure out what caused the time line to "stall" in this universe. What wasn't invented/what didn't happen? For instance, steam punk could be attributed to nobody inventing the internal combustion engine and something like Fallout attributed to nobody inventing the micro chip. The most I can figure is westward expansion never happened, WW1 never happened to cause the advancement in weapons tech, and there never was a population boom.
A boardwalk would be the typical name given to the slightly raised up front walkways of individual buildings. Some are designed to match each building as a whole and others would be built at the time of the building's construction, giving it a mismatched patchwork of boardwalk as new buildings are raised. This is to keep in mind that these areas could get rather muddy and quite dirty. Gotta keep those dresses and suit pants clean. Part of the reason these boardwalks exist. I do prefer the character of an old mismatch type of look. Makes things look more interesting and provides story to individual elements of an otherwise complete community of elements.
I haven't watched this channel in about a year or two. Watching this video reminded me of my friend if he was a crafter, the "I guess" is the exact same as my friend's. It's his favorite thing to say. I don't think this is relevant to anyone but myself, so I don't know why I'm sharing this. Anyways, love the channel and this small little town.
The two guys on the left are rail workers, the beam is a rail tie and the full length sledgehammer was commonly used for driving spikes and breaking up boulders and other rocky obstructions quickly (shims and wedge or chisels). Third guy has a short whip, so hes a cowboy or rancher.
Absolutely amazing. Your town is going to be amazing as well once its completed. Jim was a perfect choice to use as a scale reference, lol. Keep them coming. Thanks for sharing.
For the walls, it may be easier/give you a slightly cleaner look if you cut them down to close to size, glue them to the foam, then cut them/score and snap them all at the edge of the miter. I haven't done this with wood, but I've done it with packaging projects.
Late to the party, but the raised walkway around the buildings are simply called "Board Walks." and now you know... or now I repeat someone else who has said as much.
