This week, I returned to my Wild Imaginary West town with building number 6. This building is part of the town's monster defense plan and uses a tethered hot air balloon as a watch tower and machine gun battery.

It would be sweet to see a "diorama" of the streets between the buildings, would be mostly dust I suppose but with the mech wagons and factions moving about and such, maybe even a dual.

I was just thinking that the town diorama needed some negative space. Say a street in front of the buildings with an alley/walkway in between bldgs. This would be great to show off little slices of WIW town life; a mech unloading supplies, monster hunter dropping off pelts/captured monster, etc. Only downside is it would ruin the modularity of the town by locking down their positions...🤔 So maybe just a main street section, about 3 or 4 bldgs long with either a gunfight/monster attack or just a couple well detailed mechs and animals going about daily life in the town.

I love this series yet I feel like something is missing, like a big lore piece; maybe a town square with a bronze statue with the founder fighting off some monsters or something, or like a science lab which conducts studies on dead monsters, I feel like those would be really interesting and help develop the story further

This new build makes me think of the beacon balloon of frostpunk and it makes me think about another flying thing the flying hunters witch hunt food but in your wild west it would be monsters they'd be hunting if you like that idea anyways I'd advise looking it op for inspiration also great video

In all honesty, I've only done the third of these; but it is pretty darn great, nonetheless. I like the way that you are adding mundane complexity to the background of your models. The idea of the Private Military Contractors being beyond positive control resonates with real world counterparts.

I'd like to see the street. People going about their day in this town. There could be repair people fixing the weird electronics, people selling the small monster pelts you mentioned in a previous video, maybe a tram-like vehicle that runs on steam or has a monster chariot type thing. Maybe some of the smaller monsters are used like horses? I wanna see more of the monsters integrated into the every day life of the people. I love the town and all the videos. keep up the excellent work! very inspiring!

Love this series and your world building. Would love to see some fancy city folk roll into town, and get a chance to see what their tech would look like. Maybe some rich sport monster hunters, with flashy gear, getting stuck and having to get rescued!

Something just came to mind that would be perfect for your Wild, Imaginary West: A Jules Verne-inspired "From the Earth to the Moon" scene with a space capsule projectile being readied to lower into the (buried) "Columbiad Space Gun" in preparation for launch to the Moon! (A plastic model rocket nose cone, or even a plastic Easter Egg would be perfect for the capsule itself.) Again, please keep up the work you call "good" that the rest of us call GREAT!

I'm not sure if this would fit into your vision of this world, but I think it could be cool to have government walkers that are manufactured. Maybe with a cleaner dieselpunk aesthetic to contrast with the settler's walkers. Totally just an idea though. I already love what you're doing with this universe.

Man, I enjoy your videos so much and your output is a thing of envy. I'll have to talk to my shrink about "Output Envy." Slow and steady wins the race... now where have I seen this concept in action recently... Hmmm... Pinkertons in a hot-air balloon with guns, that's formidable protection! Bits Bag? I need a Bits Bag! I just had an idea! hear me out! How about you make a route shaped street "cluster" with square holes where you can put in the buildings, any way, order and direction, you want? And you can change it any time! as you please. (Also you could make like a defense wall for the outer most part of the streets.

That sounds neat, but to keep with the modular nature of the town so far built, I'd say have the streets and alleyways be individual pieces and then embed magnets into the sides of the bases so that the buildings can connect with one another as well as the streets.

I was surprised that you didn't put gun positions on the building to deter the town folk from trying to steal the balloon to escape when the town gets overrun by monsters. Like most corrupt security organizations, they're typically in it for the money and power, not the well being of those paying for their services. Just my thoughts.....beautiful build as always

love your work! so inspiring:) I used to play lots of lego as a kid, when I'll have the time & material I'll definitely give building dioramas a try! thanks for the awesome inspiration & the great videos^^ especially the star wars related ones (but star wars is basically space western haha) oh one more thing, where do you store all your dioramas? do you have a shelf or a display case, so they don't get dusty? bc I wondered where I'd put all my dioramas if I'd start one day, anyways have a great day:)

Man your little town could be the basis for an amazing animated monster hunter show! Pinkerton's making an appearance every now and then taking advantage of townspeople, the main characters (monster hunting bounty hunters) taking care of the threat instead to keep Pinkerton's from extorting the town. There's so much story here and I love seeing you build it all up one section and story at a time! I can't wait to see the next instalment you make for this!

The detail you have with bending and creating realistic wires is always amazing. It really adds that touch to push the build even further and you're never afraid to make the buildings and vehicles you make look like they are actually used and lived in. It's stellar when it all comes together!

I love your western town. It was truly awesome. You, sir, have skills and a wonderful imagination. I have noticed in the comments section that people often make suggestions, so if I may, I would like to add my 2-cents worth, or in this case, my 4-cents worth. As a fan of western TV and movies, I think your town is missing two essential buildings. A general store and a blacksmith/repair shop. Also, if you are ever looking for Roman or Greek style columns for one of your dioramas, visit a shop that sells wedding cake supplies. They should have a variety of plastic columns (used to hold up cake tiers) that would work well in 1/72 scale. Best wishes and keep building your dios.

Awesome, thank you. When you say "start that bag" how would I go about that? Where do you get those from? You buy random models, never assemble them throw nicer parts to that bag? I would like to decorate my 3D printer (it's 3D printer parts that I design) to make a unique build.

Very cool! I have seen some amazing art going into the very machines that make folks more productive of late. You might want to check out a RU-vid presenter named Miniac, he recently had an artisan create a logo sign that, if I am not mistaken, features sprue! Basically, yes, while your young, save anything single use or non-used plastic, and use it creatively. Thus says the oldest living person on the internet. Peace.

Thanks for your question! I have pulled bits and pieces from lots of places. Some thrift store finds, model kits on sale at hobby stores, and bits of old kits that I never assembled. You can also steal bits from old toys, electronics, and such. Save bits from everything, I guess!

You should totally consider a scrap yard sometime. And not a workstation or factory or anything, like, a huge collection of random mech parts and broken trains and stuff. Throw in a shack and a big fence and it would look neat sitting next to your mech garage Alternatively: if you ever want to make a larger plot of land, say a 1x2, it would be cool to see a steampunk cowboy styled airfield, with something akin to a Steam Engine Flying Fortress. Cowboys didn’t have planes, but they didn’t have mechs and radios either so who’s to say

Reminds me of when I was a kid. Live here but we always went there for spring break.. Jean LeRoy was a master wood carver in Tucson. He was a former clown for the Cole Brother Circus and Ringling Brother’s Barnum and Bailey Circus. In 1978 Jean LeRoy opened a miniature museum in Trail Dust Town. (6541 E. Tanque Verde.) Jean LeRoy died in 1981, after his death some of his carvings went on display at the Hidden Valley Inn Restaurant. LeRoy’s wood carvings on display at the restaurant consisted of miniatures of the Cole Brothers Circus, Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show, a ghost town and 25 Indian tribes. The Hidden Valley Inn Restaurant burned down on August 7, 1995. None of LeRoy’s wood carvings were lost in the fire, because the wood carvings had been returned to the LeRoy family in 1994.

Enjoyed this episode! But I guess sitting in this balloon while four heavy machine guns firing, is not really a nice experience :D And the monsters are not allowed to have long distance weapons. Otherwise, this would be the greatest target you could imagine :D

This is awesome, you finally took to the sky, AND brought in the Pinkertons.... this is pretty much the same as my mental weird west storyline... so cool. In my "world" the branch of the pinkertons that deals with monsters and supernatural gets spun off from the rest of the Detective Agency and depending on the "universe" I'm telling myself either becomes the X-Files branch of the FBI or if it's the Marvel Universe, becomes the SSR and later SHIELD. My favorite build or yours yet!!!

Two suggestions for Wild Imaginary West: 1. Someone suggested last time that you incorporate realistic versions of Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner. There was once a Jonah Hex comic book that featured realistic versions of Yosemite Sam and Foghorn Leghorn, so maybe you could incorporate them as well. 2. Someone else also suggested last time that you incorporate some kind of owl monster. Perhaps it could be based on the Willowaw from "The Scooby-Doo Show".

This one was epic! and it also really got me thinking. Since there are land and sea monsters in this Imaginary West, there should be flying monsters as well. Like the legendary thunderbird, the Mothman, the dust devils, or possibly monsters from Europe/Asia/Africa who has transmigrated or have evolved their own American Cousins. Wyverns, harpies, long dragons, griffins/hippogriffs (maybe a bald eagle/lynx or black panther/condor griffin?), or they could just be giant/mutated versions of the ordinary kin. There are just so many possibilities. And I wonder if there will be monster hunters who specialize in hunting these monsters, maybe using primitive planes or AA-equipped walkers (either kind). Or if the natives of the lands have some unique or strange way they combat these flying terrors, or if it is possible they capture and tame them? I am very eager to find out more awesome stuff about this strange but fantastic Imaginary West of yours.
