i've never seen a white squirrel before. What a beautiful little thing it is! And that little happy dance it does when it gets a new nut is just hysterical.
That running around behavior is probably because it's instinctively wanting to bury the nut, but obviously can't. Try a box, maybe a meter square. Fill it with some clean soil, or maybe clean sand about 6 inches deep. See what happens.
SporadicHavoc it’s possible, if you rescue, foster and rehabilitate squirrel infants there’s a small chance that you find out that a squirrel is not capable to live by itself in the wild or I just attached to you. It happens, you just don’t know when.
@@rmc_fan They must find it difficult to thrive in the wild, depending on the predators in the area. A white squirrel would be hawk, owl and especially coyote bait in the U.S.
I was blessed to be born in Transylvania County, NC and yes we have well loved and protected White Squirrels. We even have a White Squirrel festival each year! To be sure you get to see them check out downtown or the college. The county is also known as "Land of the Waterfalls", with over 200 in the county.
2546JMBOT wowww!!! I had NO IDEA there were white squirrels!!! You are SO VERY FORTUNATE to live near them!!! I am always partial to animals with white fur, unless they are calico colored. I would be mesmerized each and every day!!! What a treat!!
I may be wrong...but I think he's running around like that with the nuts to try and confuse any other squirrels who may be watching him. Like in the wild, if he got a nut and went directly to where he had them hidden, another squirrel could watch him run directly to his hiding place and then go steal all the nuts. So I think it's just a wild instinct for him to act this way. Just a guess...though I think I watched a video on this a long time ago somewhere.
Thank you for posting this. I love the squirrels basket home, Genius. I LOVE LOVE the way you have made a home specifically for your pet. Love is in the details. I'm jealous.
Lol no, they instictively bury their nuts and make a food cache for the winter. Because it is caged and has nowhere to bury the behaviour is probably neurotic, although it could be doing a little celebration dance of thanks I guess. In the wild the nuts that get buried and left over, sometimes germinate and start a new tree. Squirrels are natures little forest starters.
They are also garden bed ruiners(trees and sunflowers coming up everywhere). Also they are peach ruiners-taking a bite FROM EVERY PEACH ON THE TREE and throwing them down to rot, because they couldn't wait till they were ripe. Good thing they're so cute!
Wow!!!!.What a adorable creature!!!.This is the first time in my life,I see a white squirrel!!.I love all the ceremony & protocol she follows, celebrating & before taking her "Fabulous treasures"-(The nuts)-,to her nests. Absolutely funny!!.I loved this video pretty much!!!.
I found a baby squirrel in the middle of the road near my house once. Her eyes weren't open yet. I don't know how she got out there because it wasn't near a tree. I got out of my car and picked her up and call the vet to ask where I should take it, because I know nothing about taking care of baby squirrels. He gave me the phone number of a lady that took care of small wild animals, and she told me baby squirrel was a girl. Months later I checked on her, and was told she had been released into the wild when she was old enough.
at 4:17 she is thanking you for that nut. this is a princess, squirrel. she loves to play and practice her squirrel skills. these are my favorite animals along with opossums.
wow! it doesnt have pink eyes so not albino? i remember one year in my bird feeder there was a white sparrow and he/she had an entourage of friends all around while they ate..when the white sparrow left they all went with..very cool
bill there is also a condition specific to birds, called leucism, or leukism. "It is an abnormal plumage condition caused by a genetic mutation that prevents pigment, particularly melanin, from being properly deposited on a bird’s feathers." (I copied the definition from an about birds dot com post)
That squirrel is either an Asian breed or an albino breed on another type of squirrel. In North Carolina in the U.S.,there is a breed of white squirrel which has grey stripes on its head.
Pretty squirrel. What is her diet? It should be veggies with a little fruit, high quality rodent block, and nuts only as treats, one a day. Improper diet can lead to calcium deficiency which causes the body to pull calcium from the bone resulting in a slow, painful sure death. It is called melebetic bone disease, which is the most common disease in all types of captive squirrels. In the wild they balance out the nuts they eat by eating things like leaves, flowers, eggs, insects etc. In captivity they are at the mercy of what we feed them. I have a flying squirrel who could have died if I didn't know this.
omg!! WHERE did it come from & HOW can i get 1.. while most my squirrels are unique, in their own way, NONE of them are as CUTE as THIS!! ... soooo adorable! #UniqueMichiganSquirrels #SquirrelyBrigade #PeanutButterHouse 🌲🏡🌲
oh my god so beautiful.... most prescious beautiful animal i haveever seen. the baby is perfect. gently pet, gentle kiss. gentle hug. nuts. do sleepy beepy with the baby zzzzz
It has a magnificently large cage, though even this seems to be unfortunately limited for a squirrel with a strong drive to store food for the winter. It's choices of hiding spots are severely limited, which is why it was constantly turning in circles whilst desperately trying to find a place for hide it's newly acquired food, ultimately begrudgingly choosing to use a previously used position. Beautiful specimen though, it is rare to see a white squirrel that is not affected by the condition called albinism.
it looks to me like she has a hard time seeing so she's going with her smell and she wants to bury the nuts but realizing that the floor is hard and there is no grass or soil to bury her nuts in she goes up into her little squirrel nests and buries her little nuts in her nest. they usually like to bury their nuts and food in different places around the wild and they remember every single place they bury their nuts it's amazing to me how they can remember where and what they have buried every time. this squirrel is absolutely beautiful and I believe because she is and all white squirrel and I believe she has blue eyes but I'm not sure and I believe she may have difficulty seeing because of her natural existence of being pale eyed and Light fur fur. precious so precious and so neat to see how loving this man is and how smart she is.
Lovely creature. We have lots of squirrel in our garden, so I can tell yours is busy running around looking for some soil to squirrel away its nuts - natural instinct/need. So a suggestion is to get a couple of plant pots filled with soil, unless it has access to a garden.
