I had no interest in watching this movie 20 years ago, but a friend loaned me the DVD, and I literally fell out of my chair laughing. "Anchorman" surprised the hell out of me. Also, "Megamind" Surprised me as well, wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was. And "Puss in Boots: Last Wish" is a surprising Masterpiece. I hate the Shrek Franchise, but PIBLW is the Best Dreamworks Animated Movie Ever

That line "It's so damn hot! Milk was a bad choice" floored me in the theater. It's funny as hell, but for whatever reason it hit me and I couldn't stop laughing for about 6 minutes. One of those where you're trying to move on and suppress it but then it creeps back up. To this day, when a line hits someone unexpectedly and way harder than it should, I call it a "milk line"

Similar thing happened to me when I saw this in the theater with the “Tits McGee” line. Came out of nowhere and I just could not stop obnoxiously laughing. I had to leave the movie until I could get it together.

Since Jen doesn't enjoy Will Farrell's comedic approach, I recommend a movie called Stranger than Fiction. It's very different than any other Will Farrell movie, and one of my favorites of his, because his performance is so different from his norm.

Absolutely love watching you guys! I've been a fan for years. I was a little disappointed to see TEMU as a sponsor, but I know how things are and I know everyone always wants a good deal on the stuff they buy. 5 minutes in and we’re finally starting the movie. Anchorman is one of those movies that requires you to at least be aware of the conceit that local TV news anchors were rock stars (in their small pond) of the time, and many of the jokes require at least a passing knowledge of the era.

I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE THIS ONE!!!! Besides Animal House and Titanic, Anchorman is my favorite movie of all time! It came out when I was 13 and I used to know every single line in the movie. I used to watch it every single weekend with the bf I had at the time. I named my red Corolla Ron Burgundy. One of the best compliments I’ve ever gotten is when someone told me that my caricature picture looked like Christina Applegate 😂 She’s amazing in this. I literally quoted this movie today, I told my roommate that Tits McGee was on vacation 😂 😂 I really hope Jen likes this one!

I can understand Jen's thoughts. When the movie first came out, I saw it in theaters. Thought it had its funny moments, but it ultimately fell flat. However, I watched it many years later and I knew what I was getting into, so I think just having that context somehow made the movie SO much funnier.

You two should watch The Other Guys. I think it's a vastly underrated Will Ferrell comedy with Mark Wahlberg that I think is just as quotable as anything in Anchorman. I just don't think it gets the recognition as some of Ferrell's other movies because he plays someone a bit more straight-laced and subdued, but I think the movie is all the better for it. Plus is has a couple of great cameos in the very beginning that aims for the bushes... I mean aims for the laughs.

so this came out my senior year in HS and pretty much EVERYONE i knew was obsessed with it (including me). We would quote it back and forth like crazy. My freshman year of college, i missed a class where the professor split the class into groups for a project. I e-mailed the person who was put in charge of the group to see what they needed me to do, and she gave me a fairly bitchy response about showing up and doing my fair share (assuming i wouldn't for some reason, i had never even met her). So I responded with "I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal. People know me. I'm very important. I have many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany." I included that last line to be 100% clear it was a joke. She took me so seriously and CHEWED ME OUT about not caring who I knew and that I wasn't going to just coast through the semester off her work, lol. She felt pretty shitty after I pointed out it was from a movie and I was just trying to ease the tension. Needless to say she wasn't great to work with, haha.
