I remember going through Epcot Center's World of Tomorrow as a teen. The future presented by Disney's Imaginers was enthralling. This was back when the modification of crops & food sources was a 'good thing'. And the cities of the future were a pretty version of what could be. I also grew up watching reruns of OG Star Trek & watched the various opening seasons of most of the spin-offs. I miss the belief that we as a world would build on the betterment of life for all of us. The spiraling into authoritarianism on a global scale is both scary & depressing for GenXer like myself.
