Btw, you can tell Soda that you have him on record saying that he allows you to run as a barbarian with a naked chest. You asked him whether it's fine for him if you do max level raiding and stuff without a chestpiece too, and he agreed. Now ofc you both were talking about the chestpiece and not the tabard, both of you forgot about the latter. But the point of the barbarian isn't that he doesn't have a chestpiece, it's that he runs around with a naked chest for rp reasons. The tabard covers the naked chest. And Soda allowed you to be a barb. So just tell Soda that you can't wear the tabard without breaking the Barbarian RP, and he will probably allow it without more -fkp - because he had agreed to it prior.
