it isnt random. it is an ethnicity estimate. some people inherit dna from different ppl in the family. his mom for example may have inherited genetics from a great great grandparent which the child (jack) didnt. It isnt random. It’s just how genetics works.
His brother Thomas just inherited english and scandinavian dna whereas all the other members have good chunks of nortwestern europe, irish/scottish/welsh and even italian
@@jackwn1405 His north western european shows not up, which is because it shows up as english (Its really similar) There are even examples where a mother got north western european and her daughter got the same % but completely as scandinavian and not north western. I would maybe try ancestrydna or for gods will maybe myheritage will update their ethnicity estimate once.
MyHeritage and FTDNA give some very weird results for English. My father whose grandmother is from England gets about 45% Irish, Sottish and Welsh, 45% North & Western European and the rest Scandinavian. He is 0% English. On FTDNA he gets 0% Great Britain even though there is a large percentage of English and Scottish ancestry. I'm not sure what is going on with these results.
@@davidirwin1549it can happen, it means dna inherited received the outliner of zero brit dna. I think albeit being an ignoramus that it is the exception that proves the rule.
Kind of a similar situation here. Got a 50% Italian and even Greek and northern Macedonian blood whereas it should have been portuguese. I have a well detailed family tree going back to 1100s and there should be no mistakes there since they were all nobles
Richard Branson also came up with a small South Asian result One of his ancestors worked in India during the colonial period. Hence intermarriage took place although in those days and even in India today mixed marriages are frowned upon
Hi, I'm just trying to add to my family tree. My Grandfather is Willian Nuttall from around Astley, Leigh in Lancs and then Doncaster. Any crossover with you family?
Hi Peter, There’s no William Nuttall’s in my paternal line, there’s a lot of Nuttall’s in the east Lancashire like Haslingden, Rossendale and Clitheroe areas… my Nuttall line comes from Clitheroe.
