🧿I have always wanted to go to Mykonos but was told numerous time that I wouldn’t enjoy it as it’s an expensive party island for the young and model type influencers which really annoyed me! Well… although our short trip didn't involve beach parties this time, we never once felt out of place - it's beautiful and i'd go back in flash!!🧿
Day 4 🧿 Mykonos Greece 1st September 🧿
Our last day…
I woke up early at around 7am to go for a walk around town on my own without the crowds - I love doing this on holiday! I spent around an hour or so taking photos although at this time of the day, most of the town is in the shade but it was still very pretty.
It was so quiet by the windmills!!
Our flight wasn’t leaving until the evening so we had another full day - Mykonos town is small and you only need a day or two to see everything therefore, we had a lazy morning at our hotel and went into town in the afternoon to do some shopping and had a few a drinks in Little Venice.
The weather was turning as the day went on, it started to rain as we were leaving! We were lucky to have amazing hot weather while we were there.
My thoughts on Mykonos…
I was surprised that besides the main town and the beaches, there’s nothing else to see or do on the island unlike all the other islands I’ve been to before.
It’s a beautiful island with the most gorgeous main town but it’s the beaches people come to Mykonos for mainly and the sunset beach parties. We didn’t go to any beaches while we were there but from photos online they look amazing! I did try and get us into Scorpios but it was fully booked months in advance!
Mykonos is known as the crazy expensive party island and yes, I noticed prices were more expensive than on other islands but it depends on where you ate and drank. Cocktails ranged from €12 - €25 and most of the meals we ate were around €10 - €18 each.
I would love to go back and hire a car and visit all the beaches although, im not a beach lover and I can’t stand sunbathing all day but, I’d go from beach to beach for a swim and a drink and for some ancient history, I’d go over to Delos island on a boat trip.
I’m glad I went, it’s been high up on my list of places I want to visit for a long time, it’s beautiful but it’s not an island I’d rush back to unlike say Kefalonia, or Santorini etc
