Holy crap! That was good! Huge Iron Maiden fan here, as well as a Huge Alter Bridge fan as well. I never in my wildest thoughts, could imagine "The Trooper" being performed by anyone else but Maiden, yet alone an acoustic version from Myles, unbelievable. Dang that was satisfying. I want more acoustic Iron Maiden featuring Myles. How about "Where Eagles Dare" or even "Aces High"? Myles, like Iron Maiden are among the best story tellers. UP THE IRONS Myles!
My ideal bloke. Gorgeous looking, humble and boy can he sing. Seen him 3 times now and can’t wait to see him again. Thanks for this Myles and love that your dog is called Mozart.
So exciting to see him playing live here in Brazil twice, Rock 'n Rio 2017 and Slash 2019. Milles is one of a kind, a huge artist, must be at the higher level in his generation, love to hear him playing and singing.
Wow. He's so humble saying it's a Johnny Cash interpretation because this has Myles Kennedy stamped into it like a 1000degC branding iron on a raging Stallion. Amazing. Those vocals are amazing.
I’d say that’s the opposite of humble putting himself with cash. Not saying he’s not thats not for me or your dumb ass to say but putting urself next to a legend isn’t humble my dog
Very cool version of a very cool song. Great vocals, great guitar work....I would love a full record of his acoustic musical interpretations. Great stuff, talented guy.
I think the contrast of the low end for the verses and the high mix in the chorus is a pretty cool effect. But I agree he has the range/stamina/technique to do this in the original key. He's got high notes in spades
One of my biggest complaints is that Bruce spends too much time in the higher register - he actually has some really nice lower tones that we rarely get to hear. Higher is not always better.
Maybe because its acoustic it would be too tiring for the listener if he went high all through the song. In Bruce's case the song is fully arranged with 2 overdriven guitars so you need the highs. (just an idea, no smarty pants intention:))
Over the years I have always thought there is a lot more to come from this track , although the original is a classic maybe listening to those maiden united acoustic tracks i always thought this needed re doing ...
Myles Kennedy, from his home, rocking the sh?t out of that guitar and nailing The Trooper. So cool! Thanks for posting and i'll share it on an Alter Bridge fan page so more people can see it. He did 5 songs and one of them was an incredible acoutic version of Native son. Will it be possible to post that one too? :)
@@alistairhomewood7344 I do not know of any other option than being a SiriusXM suscriber (they have a free trial). However, i think that some of the content might not be available. You'd better ask them. I hope that they'll post the other songs eventually. The cat living 2 doors down from us is named Mozart as well 😅 but jeezz. Myles Kennedy man. Like sure maybe he took a few practice runs at this, but the recording is live and flawless! Its just amazing to see how much talent he has! I'm actually for some reason wondering how he would sound in a band like Dragonforce... just curious... anyone else?
The year of that tour (2018) saw it at Turner Hall in Milwaukee...when this started I'm like...I know that (also became a Maiden fan in my formidable teenage 80's years...LOL) sound....and then BOOM! What a fantastic rendition...also it goes w/o saying how ridiculously talented Myles is...great solo show (truth be told...actually prefer it over an AB show).
He has an amazing talent. Hear me out. He was born with his instrument and did not have to learn it. Find it yes . Would anyone know SRV, Jimi or Clapton if they could not play guitar and just sing? I love the guy... he is a singer. Celine Dion, Wayne Newton and Whitney Houston have never been thought of as musicians.
Jorge Cordero , I'm a Kevin Bacon fan too, and never saw the likeness between these two men. Except a bit for the cheekbones? It's an internet gag, the internet hurdle.
