do you have a video on how you created the proximity to open the garage door as you approach your home? I used to have this feature in my Tesla but recently moved to a Rivian. I have Alexa integration but would love to not have to ask anything and it just open/close the door depending on the condition.
@@mmalto Dayum! Rivian! I have my eyes on the R1T but the price tag though. I don’t have any video of the proximity setup in my new place yet. I’ll put one up as soon as I get around to it.
To my knowledge, this is the second time they've done this. I don't really like Chamberlain's mentality when it comes to their customers. Great video 👍
Thanks Animesh. That’s why I typically stay away from cloud solutions. The can do as they wish and you can’t do anything about it. With this solution it completely cut them out. I also won’t be doing any sort of software upgrades on my unit anymore cuz I’m sure they will try to put a block.
@@TyDaSpace Because the micro-usb connector was garbage when it was first released. Easy to break, non-reversible, low speed, limited power specs. I'm slowly purging all devices that are not usb-c and not buying anything new with (lightning) or micro-usb. Not sure what devices you are having issues with that have usb-c, but some devices don't implement the standard properly yet due to poorly skilled engineers, especially when it comes to usb-c to usb-c charging. Items that fail in that respect I return right away - no need to reward poor products with my money. One cord to rule them all! Most new devices are being released with usb-c due to the wider acceptance and I believe the European Union requiring usb-c for all smart phones is helping with that trend. Most of the products out that still have micro-usb are old stock or from companies that don't want to invest the time to rework their legacy products to use usb-c. Plus I really don't like connectors that take two attempts to plug in correctly. There are a few device, like the ratgdo I'm interested in buying, but I'll hold off until they are usb-c.
