By far the BEST video that covers the RATGDO for novices. It is straight forward, clear, no jargon and slow paced. I watched so many other videos and all made one or more steps confusing Thank you. Your help took me only 15 min to complete
I wondered the same thing since I also have a battery. Didn't bother unplugging, just now installed and it works great. I just made sure I wasn't in the path of the track.

I was wondering the same since it clearly says to do that in the instructions and I'm sure the ratgdo isn't able to read some sort of state data if you don't connect them as passthrough.
Okay just finished rewiring so the RATGDO was the pass-through. For others, this means the existing garage door wires connected to the ratgdo board (blue terminals) -> then the ratgdo wires connected to the garage door opener and were the only wires attached to the opener I did have issues connecting two wires into one slot (for the sensor wires) on the ratgdo board so I had to twist one around the other and pushed only one wire in The other thing I want to mention is - I tested before and after doing this rewiring and noticed one garage door opener would not let me stop the door via home assistant once I started moving the door up/down (but the sensors worked and would stop the door as usual). After rewiring it to act as a pass-through, I was able to stop it while it was moving Interestingly, my other garage door opener didn't have that stopping issue and it's still wired the way I show in the video
I'd like to know this too. The wiring diagrams are confusing, especially for security + 1.0. I got mine working following this connection method, but my wall control lost the light switch and the illumination light on the garage opener button now blinks. I can't find a way to contact the dev to ask questions. The only email I found received no response.
