The Myrrh oil is used since antiquity for its rejuvenating effects on body and mind. The Aramaic word Myrrh from which the name of the resin is derived means Bitter. It was used as medicine and beautifying ointment. Myrrh resin is obtained by “tapping” the trunk of the tree. This hurting” then produces the appearance of the resinous “tears”, the aromatic gum which the tree creates in order to heal its wound.
