Thank you for sharing your memories. In 1995, I was working at The Yachtsman Resort in the glass tower @ 14th Ave N. just 5 blocks from the Pavillion. That entire area profited very well in the 90's. I have a few VHS-c tapes from about this time and also 1990 or so when my sister & brother's came to visit. I'll post them once I convert them.

Wow that video was around the first time and around the same month that I went to Myrtle beach with my family for the first time ever. I was a teenager then. I don't remember Family Kingdom then but I do remember The Palvion. Thanks for sharing your video

I hope that everyone is having a wonderful day. I was there that month and year but under the spell of Coors or Miller, I don't remember everything. LoL. North Carolina!

A few years before the lightweight flatscreen TVs.

That was one of the biggest changes in tech in the 2000's, when CRT TV's and computer monitors were phased out and replaced with flat LCD TV's and monitors. CRT's are as obsolete as rotary phones, 8-track tapes, VHS tapes, and film for cameras. Everybody takes digital video and photos now, since smart phones became popular. In fact, film and VHS tapes are probably a foreign concept to younger generations who have smart phones. But the beauty of people recording on bulky camcorders onto VHS tapes in the 80's and 90's is that they recorded stuff that changed or no longer exists. Like the old Pavilion Park in Myrtle Beach.

I wasn’t alive yet so thank you for sharing this piece of history! Myrtle honestly hasn’t changed much!

You really can't compare to a time you weren't alive yet to how it is now. It has changed dramatically and not all of it is good. Most of the changes are because of greed and the people moving here having no respect for others. You can definitely tell where they come from because they don't have that southern hospitality. All of the beautiful trees that we had (and took the brunt of strong winds during hurricanes) have been destroyed & taken from not just people but all the animals we see dead on the roads. If I had the money to move, I would.
