This really feels like a hangover from the time Halflings were considered a core race. I don't remember more than a handful of Halflings in any D&D product since, mostly bartenders. 2nd edition came out right around this time and it felt like Halflings were shoved back in cupboard from that point on.
Thank you so much! It really means a lot to me that people in this hobby are so supportive. It’s great that there are people out there who enjoy hearing me talk about the parts of D&D that made me fall in love with the game.
This has always been one of my favorite gazatteers. The Hin have always been a fun race to play. Over all a decent introduction given how much info is packed into this. Would have liked to hear more details in some areas, but that is just my preference.
Thanks for watching! I always wished I could’ve used this material more. Back in the day, our campaigns didn’t feature Hin very much and I didn’t explore this material until much later on. It’s a shame because the Gazetteer is so well done. Thank you also for your feedback. I struggle between describing all the material and keeping the videos short and to the point.
Ed Greenwood wrote a lot of the fluff and Forgotten Realms without much surprise has a lot of references to the Five Shires and there is a lot of implication most halflings in that setting may have come from there.
Love this content: we bought some of these books back in the day with my group... can't wait to watch the Darokin episode: one of my characters was a merchant dwarf... :)
Thanks so much! There’s a vibe to these products and this world that just captivates me. I love that you played a campaign here! Darokin is coming soon!
@@raisegamefully Actually we played many campaigns in Mystara and in one of those I was the DM. Beign myself from Italy, did you know they translated some of the gazzetteers (I think 1 through 5 ) in Italian too? Also, at the time, without Amazon, it was really tough to find them, once I remember travelling for 80/90 miles just to find a comics shop in another nearby city to buy some material... Just a note: I don't remember in what video you mentioned it but the rules cyclopedia did not contain the Immortal rules set. I had to buy it separately. Keep up this good job you are doing:feels like being young again 🙂
Wow! I had no idea the products were translated into Italian. That’s really cool. And I can’t believe you drove so far for some products. That’s great. I would definitely do the same thing! Didn’t know that info about the immortal rules but I’m not surprised. I don’t think those modules were big sellers. I love them though! Glad that the videos are helping you feel young. The game has always done that for me.
@@raisegamefully ...who spoke about driving so far... at the time I was young and did not have the driving license so me and a friend took the train... 😂😂😂
