Juliaflo most channels have gone from traditional shows to reality shows even the history channel runs nothing but reality shows. unfortunately that's what the vast majority of television watchers want to see
Juliaflo idk why they don't have the true stories no more we should make a petition to show the true stories again but still show the kardashian we they r new and bot show the kardashians every single second
What was with these freaking monsters. The evil they do. Poor Frankie, he was just a child, a child you freaking monsters. What a tragic affair. What a talent Frankie Lymon had. What a disgrace these creeps. They own the entertainment industry and just about everything else. R.I.P. Frankie. We will never forget you..
That was history of show business as it was.Take a good look at some of the child stars of the '30s throu the '80s,they were a hot item until they hit adolescence then it was all downhill.Think of Matthew "Stymie" Beard who could have been called a '40s version of Frankie Lymon. He,like Lymon, was a heroin addict himself. He died around 1980 around the age of fifty.Take a look at Chuck Berry and his relationship with Alan Freed:Freed cut himself in on fifty per cent of Berry's tunes;Berry got 25% and some cat named Russ Fratto, whom no one seems to know much about, got the remaining 25%.Another example was trumpeter Charlie Shavers;he,as a trumpeter in bassist John Kirby's sextette, wrote the song "Undecided" in 1938.He ended up selling the rights for $100.That was the kind of a deal any manager would go for.Their thinking was that it was better to take the cash offereed rather than hold on to it for royalties that weren't realised because the song would probably die on the vine.Dizzy Gillespie was another example:he wrote a song called "interlude" in 1944 while playing for bass saxophonist Boyd Raeburn. He sold it to Raeburn for $50.00.The song, retitled "A Night In Tunisia" became a late big band era/be bop classic. There is an old story that was told that if you wanted to survive in the record business(or the music business for that matter)you didn't pay anyone.
Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers got ripped off by morris Levy because they never made any money for writing the song Why Do Fools Fall In Love but it appears on the credits as merchant and Santiago but Levy slaps his name on the song to collect songwriting royalties
He was so young and didn't know about the business. He wrote that song and his name needed to be on there. So he could gain success from it. His manager who got him the record deal, should have looked out from him.
@@Prettyscorp80 apologies, I didn't see this. Washington Heights began at 155th Street. Once you crossed from the side where PS 28 was located heading toward 154th street, you go from Washington Heights to Harlem. At least that was how it was back in my day.
@@exozimiqz4058 growing up in that area from 1951 through the 70's, Harlem began at 155th Street, once you crossed the street at Minisink on your way to 154th. That was during the time that Mr. Lymon was still with us. Herman and I would chat sometime when we would see each other.
Say what frankie Lymon started using heroin when he was 14 or 15 years old that's too young for somebody to use drugs and then the music career the declines
God.. man.. ya'll ppl just dont know NOTHING bout the black American music experience.. Dont anybody know or have ppl or family in the business ??? Ya'll dont talk to old heads who's been around.. Everybody's really is " Independent American "
what is "ghost riding"? When you jump outta your car and ghost ride the whip? Or do you mean "Ghost writing?" The world don't have a place for bad grammar son
+Jac Rabbit He was probably as good at schmoozing up women, making them laugh, and getting them off as he was at singing! There is some evidence that at as young as 10 yo he was pimping for neighborhood hookers. He was a very intelligent, street smart, outgoing, go-getter. Acc to Jimmy Merchant, when touring with the platters, and riding on the same bus, at 14, he was making out in the back of the bus with none other than the bright, beautiful Zola Taylor, who was supposedly age 26 at the time.
It's sad to see the cruel comments of someone that die a tragic death while being so talented. It's a sad thing when fame is your demise at such an early age. I pray God's mercy for him.
If I remember correctly,Morris Levy got murdered in what looked like a Mafia killing I might be wrong about this but I think he opened his front door and found himself facing the business end of a gun.I do know that he screwed a lot people out of royalties ,including Tommy James (.Among James songs were "I Thin k We're Alone Now),Levy would get Mafia goons to get violent with anybody who tried to get royalties.James didn't get any royalties until after Levy died.
Generally most people do drugs to cover some type of pain, his heavily uses of drugs just might have for him to try and cover up his lost of his friends the Teenagers when he went solo. The craving affects took over because of the constantly thoughts of what ever that was making him hurt, rather the loss of the Teenagers or some other type of trauma, then addiction sat in, you can bet your bottom dollar on that.
Runup Hoe Well they get bored and maybe it's a lot of bad influences in the industry. You have to think these people have it all and the only thing left is to get high or drunk 😏 I know I wouldn't do it but everybody not that strong 😌
Unfortunately, this was how the music business operated. If they discovered your "soft spot", be it narcotics, alcohol, or women. Then why would they give you royalties? Even Dick Clark had artist sign over royalties to showcase them on his show, in some cases.
He wasn't innocent though. He had multiple wives... However the industry is disgusting. He was 14 and women were 25 having intimacy with him plus he was doing drugs at that age too! The industry took advantage of that & stole his money too. Just sad all the way AROUND
yeah you're absolutely right. There was a definite correlation between heroin use and JAzz back then too, you almost had to do smack to be a Jazz man back then
Not really.Satchmo did weed until he died.Duke Ellington never got into I was a musician, and I certainly never got into it.There were few musicians I knew of who were into weed;most drank.
That man was a kid in a adult world seems like his last wife was the closest thing he had to recovery and could’ve been here to tell his testimony as a old man today he would be 81 it’s sad may he continue to rest in peace
I wish Frankie had kept the teenagers on moris levi was his pocket taking death spiral tradgedy we all were devastated for years so many people loved him moris took this straight kid and destroyed him
That guy really finds the 18 months thing "amazing"? It's just coincidence that a few incidents line up somehow. These barely were coincidences, it's just some dude putting emphasis on a point in random artist's timelines. There is no connection between those guys!Sure, a few rockstar giants died at age 27 ("Forever 27 Club") but then a lot of them didn't die at 27. Maybe it's the fact that most of those guys died from drug use. Accidents and coincidences do happen, but if you look into things a little then you can easily plot a pattern (which in reality it's just bullshit.)
Are fucking serious... Jerry Lee Lewis's career went completely left (as it should) when news got out that he married his underage cousin. Do some research.
