I’m not gonna lie you should do this with every character I’ve been looking for someone to give a breakdown on how to counter characters and your one of the only ones that gives a thorough breakdown on how to counter. Everyone else just explains how to play the character awesome vid
100%, most counter guides don’t say much other than ‘this special move is minus!’. not enough channels cover the basic setups and what your counter options are, and this game is FULL of little knowledge checks
As a Dhalsim player I hate that this video exists and would dislike it, but I'd rather upvote and comment to help the algorithm in your favor. Thanks for all your training resources, Get those views!
This is exactly what I needed. Please do one for Marisa vs Jamie too. Something about this matchup is just absolutely tilting when they can just turtle/drink and throw DR HP to blow out my armor and skip neutral. It basically these 2 killing me in Masters
Thanks for making this. Whenever i ask for tips vs dhalsim i always get vague answers or stuff I assume dhalsim players want me to play like. Never been able to win without going unga before so its nice to know a somewhat consistent way to deal with some of his more annoying tools. Thanks again
As someone who uses Dhalsim a fair amount, people usually defeat themselves simply by not being patient. Dhalsim is a scrub killer against people who are impatient, or can't adjust their strategy
Sim player here. Very solid tips in this video. I think knowing how to deal with float, teleport, and yoga fire/comet will get you 90% of the way there for most ranks of Dhalsim. Definitely make sure you're taking advantage of the forced juggle states you can put Sim in. It's also really worth learning the stuff your individual character can do. Zangief for example obviously struggles a lot in this matchup, so it's worth knowing how to use his armored heavy punch after drive rush to beat a lot of float options. Biggest thing is probably just not cracking and playing obvious, because that's what Sim wants. And be extremely cautious if you're going to jump as Sim as some of the best tools to deal with that.
Thanks man! As Marisa player (sub main), I actually see a lot of utilities from a superman punch. You can basically skip the neutral with it against Dhalsim, and they can not really punish it that much, especially if you not just mindlesly mash it nonstop, but be more mindfull about it.
This is the most important Marisa video yet. I have a very solid win percentage, outside of Dhalsim, Luke and Kimberly! I used to have problems with JP too, prepatch. Not anymore! LOL
Thanks. Very helpful. Edit - I've thought about it a lot, I think he frustrates people because he feels so pre emptive. So it either feels like he read your mind or that he's just flow charting and you walked into it. Neither feel good. Of course it's not that simple I know he's very hard to play, just talking about how it feels to get bonked from across the screen. Looking forward to being able to approach things more calmly now that I have more knowledge on what to do. I vaguely knew some small parts of this but having it as concrete, and especially adding context like why a response is okay based on what the dhalsim spent for that opportunity is invaluable.
Is there a way to beat teleport easier with Luke? I’ve been using cr.hp but sometimes it gets clipped and st.lp is too slow and often whiffs. Crosscut dps aren’t reliable for me either
Any tips on sims that even close range float they AA Pretty much im at the range of jmp smp and the sim will insta jump float and ping me with safe air/ground normals and jumpi i get AA
Us SIM players taking notes on what players are now looking for 😂 13:05 it wasn’t mentioned so I’ll provide a free tip in case you weren’t aware…if you hit SIM with anything while he is still holding/charging the super, it disappears. No need to wait for him to release it. In the words of SMUG - thank you and you’re welcome 😁
@@polkunus Im talking about back+heavy punch, not neutral heavy punch. You can combo into qcb+mk or even a spin kick on hit. b.hp doesnt extend her forward so its hard for sim to punish it even if you just throw it out randomly hoping to catch something
As a dhalsim main it took you guys this long to figure out out counters to dhalsim. Shit isn’t that hard play patiently and bait out teleport. Not hard at all you can basically throw out normals all day.
I'm glad that you're showing me what you're looking for against Dhalsim mains and this will help me to change up a lot of my strategies against Marissa players now 💪🏾✊🏾👌🏾⚔🥷🤣💯
