The buckle field :) You could carry a couple of small zip lock bags for finds such as that piece of cloth, that way you could expel all the air from around it. Don't forget to let us know what the LFO thinks of it. Go back and excavate that rock!

Always good to have a jiffy bag to put delicate objects like cloth,that is amazing it has survived,I don't know how to preserve a thing like that,maybe a solution of some liquid and resin i don't know.but that was old,just looking at how it was made,that piece of cloth,you could see the weave and weft,and colour,Blue???now i know that purple was shell fish,the romans made it with urine,a chemical reaction,very expensive stuff,only for the emperor,
