Oh wow, Miss Marple and Lindy’s cheesecake!! My husband and I went to Lindy’s on a visit to NY probably 30 years ago:) I love the Penguin classics, great books all. I don’t believe I’ve read any Allingham yet although I’ve heard of Albert Campion so maybe I have. Long ago. And I love the serendipity when books sync up.
I adore the look of those British library crime classics, how fun for you to have a nice stack of them! I've acquired all the peter wimsey novels via Kindle daily deals. Had read gaudy night previously, so it's been fun going back to the first title..Whose Body...to better understand Lord Peter's back story.
I read that Inspector Chopra mystery aloud on one of our many roadtrips and it was really fun. 🐘 It is the first of a series, I think so far there’s three in the series. Maybe I’ll go ahead and put the second one on hold at my library. I still haven’t read any British library crime classics yet. That was a fun haul. And glad your tea was just right ☕️
I love the lord Peter went to see in the Dorothy Sayers so I would probably start with the one based on him and then I miss Marple mysteries though I think I’ve read all of them in my 20s. I’m thinking of rereading Agatha Christie but so many books so little time.
I read two Christopher Morley books, Parnassus on Wheels and The Haunted Bookshop and several other modern book connected mysteries. The Scarlet Pimpernel. I like nineteen -forties mysteries, I would start there.
