“How do two brothers get into the nail care business?” This is the single most common question people ask us. There’s a long and rocky version but we’ll give you the short one. We have our fearless and unconventional mother, Young Salo, to thank. With a single-minded entrepreneurial spirit, she decided to start her own business at the age of 49. She had a passion for the nail industry and we did everything in our power to support her. In the end, this is a family business.
Greg, the older brother, became a licensed nail technician after switching gears from fire fighter’s training. He is energy personified and has a true passion for developing the best professional nail care products and education. Habib is the younger brother. He jumped in a few years later; taking a detour from medical school and a life in music. He brings his own creative mind for business, marketing and strategy. Unexpectedly, we are a perfect team.
Today, more than 20 years later, Young Nails Inc., is a professional nail care manufacturing company exporting to over 40 countries worldwide and distributing domestically to over 3000 stores. Mom was right! I thought Greg was really going to flex on us with the color blocking but Tracey brought it all together in a harmonic way. Would love to see Tracey do more stuff that Greg usually does (literal art), like a style swap challenge.

I adore Young Salo! She made the right choice this time. However, I did kind of boggle at the technique that Greg used and may experiment with it in the future. I love the way Tracey’s nails turned out. What I want to know is: Where did you go for lunch?

I so love watching Tracy creating. Her hands were quivering as her mind spun in decorating design directions of corporations. Great job. Buuuttt... Greg gave me lessons, helpful hints, guidance, tutelage while Tracy was showing us what she was doing not teaching. She is an amazing tech a fierce artist, she by hands down took this challenge. Greg didn't win the artist creative side but I learned way more from him. Great job every one including our darling host referee.

I love how they both take us through the process and how they both had the same products in very different ways. They're both such great teachers. Sorry Greg, but I like Tracy's nail better, but I really liked how you mixed the glitters with the acrylic.

I used finish gel to adhere stones before and they DID NOT move and I was astonished. That is an awesome product.

Both beautiful! I do love how Tracy on purpose distressed the floral foil. I struggle with foil coverage and I never thought to make it imperfect as a design feature, so def gonna try that. Also, mom is delightful!

I love these videos, and I love how frequently you guys upload content. My only problem is every time I watch one of these I end up ordering half a dozen new glitters from your store. I'm a pharmacist, but I have enough nail products to switch professions!

This was a super fun idea for a video and I would love to see more like this! Also yes, Tracey won and did a great job but I think she did something safe. I get that Greg was trying to think outside of the box and he probably didn't execute it how he envisioned it.

Now my answer is twofold , Tracy's were better in my opinion, because she Incorporated the design across all 10 fingernails, however if Greg is prepared to ship to New Zealand or not New Zealand just specifically me then I can be swayed. That was so funny at the end with your mum awesome.

I think traceys entire hand helped the finger pull through. I thought it looked super last minute and kind of slopped it all together but it worked. It turned out beautiful all that matters.
