I'm looking to get SKS to my collection. I found online advertising Canadian SKS. I never heard for Canadian SKS that was made from 1950-1980, and was modified for Canadian army forces. Is that something that is actually true is my question? I figure that there will be someone that if familiar with it more then I am.
@gnutzguy No. The price is unreasonable, in my opinion. The SKS-D is a commercial model. They may be rarer, but they have no important history. Aside from the important differentiator, that being the use of AK mags, it's just a pinned barrel chinese SKS with stamped parts and no bayonet. However, I did find it interesting to see it on the market.
yup the earlier SKS-D came with stripper clip guide. once they ran out of spare parts carrier. they manufactured new ones without. sub-variant come with regular looking catch.
I have that exact stock on my sks, albeit a different finish. It is well made as the creator takes his time with each order. It took about two to three months to be complete, and he has different designs. The one on this video I believe was the paratrooper model, and I also ordered another stock from him with a factory stock design to restore a bubba’d sks. The quality for these stocks are great, and they absorb the heat better for long range sessions.
