@@FallsTheShadow22 it wasnt until i read a book about tir na nog a couple years ago that it all suddenly game flooding back to me. i bloody loved this show as a kid then it just vanished and it was like it never exsisted no one knew about it, shit was weird yo
I tried explaining it to a friend one time and was like “it’s like power rangers but their like knights but they look like samurai barbaians” The looks I was given 😅
@@Numl0k I damn sure can't argue with that. I just wish they would stop trying to remake and reboot the classics (SHE-RA 🙄, Thundercats Roar🙄🙄) unless they are going to put effort into it like the creators of Cobra Kai did.
@@tinahickey8273 I don’t think you get the point of what I said. I was pointing out how funny it is to have an animal casually eating in the background when the character in the focal point is having a dramatic moment.
The only one I would harp on is the girls cuz hers sticks out to much as the least armored one. Plus I felt Fire and Earths armor looks lil to similar but other then that they were pretty epic.
forgot where I read it but supposedly had the series continued there would have been a 6th knight, the knight of the swamp with the transformation being "Death below me."
If they added several more Knights, their henshin catchphrases would sound like this: Light Knight: Light upon me! Shadow Knight: Shadow beside me! Electric Knight: Lightning through me! Celestial Knight: The Stars beyond me!
I think his name was Garrett. He was a prince to a neighboring kingdom and Queen Mauve put a spell on him to make him fight the Knights. Kinda like how Rita put a spell on Tommy
@@JeremyMccullar Nothing wrong with enjoying a little cheese. We all had our own variety when we were kids and I'm not ashamed to admit this and Beetleborgs were mine. I probably would've gotten more into Super Samurai Syber Squad, too, but I never found a channel that ran it, and my rental store only had the first and last VHS for it.
@@GeraltOfRivia99 if the times were the same today, no thanks. My family would be bickering continuously and I'd have this as my make believe escape and I treated this escape like a drug and it eventually felt like I never got enough of it. I wish it came out today to where I could ACTUALLY enjoy it
This show was my jam and the thing that sparked my love for fantasy and midieval fiction Kinda hoping to see this return as a big budget production, tbh
@@BennettFamilyBasketball are you seriously playing spelling police in 2024 and then give the wrong spelling while I've been using the correct one? Waaw. Maybe learn how to google.
This show was a Saban property after Power Rangers was a hit, and it's about another group of young people transforming into flashy costumed fighters, so it's Irish Power Rangers
Well, if you're going to be a know-it-all prick trying to get internet points, you should know it was called *Legendary Armor Samurai Troopers* in Japan, and the term "Ronin" is dishonorable and not actually even applicable to the characters in the anime.
Pfft. There were no girl Ronin Warriors! So, medieval Power Rangers. Bad joke is bad, but I'm tired. @@escalatingbarbarism5096 It does kinda fit. A Ronin is a Samurai without a Lord. The Troopers didn't have a Lord because the armors turned against their former Lord.
I have been looking for this show forever! i always ask my friends if they remembered a show in the year 2000's which contained superpowers in a medieval setting and they always looked at me like i'm making things up. I'm glad i finally found what this show was called.
I loved this show as a child and still do as I have always love the Irish lore and this show was a nice twist and getting several actor that were Irish or Celtic to star in the show (Rohan's actor). They did a great job with the series at the time as no one got hurt to the point of major injury and the 'knights' did almost all of their own stunts in and out of suit. wish there were more shows like this. i really wish that this show was on DVD
I agree with you, this show was like any other at the time. This and along with Power Rangers, VR Troopers, and the Beetleborgs these shows were the stuff. And they definitely should release this series on DVD like they have with others.
Mike G. yeah. the dvd sales would go high as iwould be the first one in line to buy this show. i'm stuck watching the german langue verison and i don't speak german but i still know what they are saying do to watching the show as a kid and i study body movement.
@@MikeG However unlike Power Rangers, VR Troopers, and the Beetleborgs this show which were based on the Japanese version this show was an the creater's own idea with of course thanking some Irish/Celtic lore into account
To this day, still one of the most underrated plot twists ever, Rowan being revealed as not only the Draganta figure they were searching for, but also the son of the evil Queen Maeve. Torc being revealed as the thief that stole the sacred chalice from Ivar's kingdom was less of a shock since we've seen that same chalice being used for Maeve's summonings.
This show deserves a remake. Done right tho. 90s was all bout cheese, pure good vs pure evil, today it's all about emotional conflict, anti Heroes, and sarcasm with alittle off screen brutal kills for the lower age ratings.
I agree, they have released like the Beetleborgs complete seasons, all the power rangers seasons, and all the VR Troopers seasons. I think they should release both the Mystic Knights and the Masked Rider complete seasons.
Thanks , this is the one show I absolutely loved growing up watching and now I finally found it thanks to you and other links lol . Man I wish it would've stayed on the air longer than it did. I think I only got to see 1 season before it was cancelled or yanked off the air in the USA.
No thank you Mike, I feel like this show was sadly forgotten compared to the likes of Power Rangers, Big Bad Bettleborgs, VR Troopers, etc. Rock on! 🤘🏻😄🤘🏻
Wow. Now I realize the origin of why I've always thought Deirdre is a badass name. Also, the camera shot of the Water Knight before he transforms is great.
Oh God This AWESOME Show was my Top Ten All Time Favorite TV Series, Second To Every Single Power Rangers (Except Super Ninja Steel), Third To V R Troopers, Fourth to Masked Rider, Fifth to Big Bad Beetleborgs, Also Sometimes I used to Daydream that I was a Mystic Knight, And sometimes I get too carried away with my Daydream, I remember during my School Years, The Teacher was talking about something, I don't remember what it was, I started having a Daydream, and in the Daydream, I looked out of the classroom Window, and I saw a Bad Guy doing something Bad, Until I Turned into the Mystic Knight Of Light, Then I slammed my hand on my Desk, and I said out loud, "TAKE THAT YOU BAD GUY!!!", until everyone started looking at me, I was embarrassed.
I watched this when i was about a preteen and all the other fox kids shows every now and then. I use to act them out when playing outside. I was saddened when there was no season 2, because the season one ending really got me invested.
The one thing that throws me off about the transformations...is Angus' transformation. Like all of the others they show the legs, then the torso, then the head/shoulders. But like when it's Angus' turn, it shows the legs, his entire upper half and THEN a zoom in on his face lol. Still loved this show to death.
Hahaha finally! Proof of its existence!!! My sister wont believe me we were watching mystic nights the same year we were watching young hercules. I guess a young ryan gosling would really be retained in her memories!!!
i had the red one as a figur with his dragon, even draw my own knight his name was Braven the knight of darkness, his wewapon was posseded by a evil spirit at first until he broke free and his chanting to get his armors was drakness deep in me
Omg I remember I had some toys if the characters. I randomly came across a video on this and my mind was just blown. Jesus I totally forgot about this show.
My God, I am in tears. After many years of trying to find this show, the show that impressed me during my childhood. I watched in Super RTL, and I really went deep into this one, and actually learned German from it, which language I now I forgot, and here I am tonight(nearly 2am) crying from joy in front of my phone 😭🤗
I didn't even know about this series until I tripped over it on the Internet! I give Saban credit for trying something different and basing it in original ideas utilizing Irish mythology as opposed to ripping off Super Sentai, Metal Heroes, and Kamen Rider, among other things. I may have to look this up and give it a watch, now.
cartoons nowadays can't even compare to the 90s kids shows I grew up watching. Animaniacs, Freakazoid, Power Rangers, Bobby's World, Earthworm Jim, Knights of Tir Na Nog, Beetleborgs, etc. Those were the good times.
I kinda remember this show. I thought it was released around 93-95 when the other ranger clone shows were out. I looked it up and now know why this show flopped. Two reasons. Reason number one, the peak power rangers era was over and so were the power rangers clone shows as by then Millennials were teens, pre-teens, or school age kids. Two Pokemon had just came out and that was a wrap for everything especially for the rest of the 90's and early 2000's.
