I remember perfectly how fascinated I was by its graphics, the mature atmosphere, the physical reaction of the bodies and bombs, the permanence of all those polygons on the battlefield. Even the blood was something exceptional. Truly unique and unforgettable gem. the same title developed today would be a shotgun blast.
i like how all gameplay based around one dwarf with bombs and whole campaign is mostly about them blasting though hordes of undead. One of my favorite games
Ahhh.. return of "Firebomb Simulator." Great stuff! Also: *Nori goes on a rescue mission* Nori: "Collateral damage, what's that? Some kind of legal term?" Damn dwarves xD
i'm writing under your random video: thanks a lot for returning memories of my favorite game. i love Myth so much. i start to play Myth becouse of you.
I love how before anyone knew Soulblighter returned, these soldiers patrolling the idyllic countryside to catch small-time ruffians and thieves are accompanied by a dwarf who throws bombs
Id always end up blowing up half my characters accidentally with the dwarfs lol. I bought this back in the day with Green Beret being the focus of the boxart. I fell in love with both games but enjoyed Myth 2 especially
@@Orangeflava Awesome man! Feel free to join some of the Discords on that link to find people to play with. There are a few online most of the time too.
@@Orangeflava lol no worries. It is an application that basically has chat rooms. You can also voice chat in it. Great for talking to people who all play a certain game or have something else in common.
Sorry i dont feel great about giving out download links on my YT page for a game that is still copyrighted. This guide will help you getting it set up though. tain.totalcodex.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=72747&sid=09b3085c06b4e1376e1b5bdfc11c1b1d#p72747
@@Jeoku thanks friend. been along time since I played. Got stuck on that level where youre supposed to reach a ship and those fast monsters come from all directions.
Well the unit is very basic and not really a threat but is a great tutorial type unit and just in general fun for the beginning missions. They don't fit well in the further missions from a level design perspective because they would just bog down your pc with more units on the screen. That is my guess anyways. I don't know if there is anything from a lore perspective.
I hadn't thought about the potential "bogging down aspect". True enough about their general weakness, but the poison-claw aspect could (if they weren't so easily mowed-down) make them challenging in their own way. Lore-wise : yes, why are these the only undead to be able to poison you like that ?
Honestly there's not that much we ever get to know about the lore. Aside from what we see in the games themselves (which the first two are narrated from a personal perspective even further narrowing our view) there's very little else shared with the player.
@@RB-jl8gj late reply, but in the lore these are wights in the making. they start to rot and the pus forms in them, hence the pus punches, but after a while the explosive gasses build up and their bodies swell up and they become wights.
You should watch Tuncer Deniz's video of them making Marathon in the office. It's like college humor. Anyways I got a interview with Doug Zartman I'll be putting up very soon and you can see for yourself.
