I’m still going in my 50s guys. I’ve been a professional musician my whole career. I’m continuing to move people with my music. My teenage daughter’s friend said I was slay the other day! 😊 I get comments from people 9 to 90 who love my music and performances. And I love working with young musicians. My daughter is in my band. This concern is all internal. No one really cares how old you are if you touch their hearts with your music.
As an aging musician, I would also say that diet, sleep, and exercise become even more important. You can get away with neglecting those things a bit more when you’re younger. But if you neglect them when you’re older, it will zap your energy levels.
You guys are a gamechanger for me. I've watched about 5 full podcasts in the last couple of days, while putting a plan together for my music and content for 2024 and beyond. Keep killing it!
Great episode and appreciate the insight given! At times I struggle with whether or not I’m aging out of music. But I then realize that I have a better story to tell now, so I am aging in. Thank you for this podcast!
I'm not aging out anytime soon... I turn 59 in June and I'm at the top of my game vocally and musically. Booking gigs is a bit harder but the gigs are often better. But I started whitewater kayaking and raft guiding at 36.. I've always been a late bloomer. 😉
God! This episode could have not have come at a better time for me!🤣One week away from my 28th birthday and I’ve been feeling super self conscious about where I’m at with my music career given I’m getting older and the years I’ve put into it already. Appreciate you guys for continuing the podcast 💯It keeps me motivated to keep on going!🙏🏻
Dude! I STARTED making music a year ago... 52 years old... and starting at 28 is a so young to me. I wish I started at 28 lol. I'm not young, so I'm just focused on improving my craft... a great song is a great song, so just enjoy the process and don't think about age at all. Cheers! 😄
I’ve been at it since my early 20s and I’m 43. Don’t let your age be your hindrance. That self consciousness is a part of the journey, just don’t let it stop your from telling your story musically. Keep going forward!
I’m 52 and still going professionaly. I just toured with the Fun Lovin Criminals who’re the same vintage! The shows were so much fun and proof that you become a better musician as you age. Though, you have to pace yourself and stay fit. Also the social perks are definitely different. It’s more about sharing something than proving yourself. I like it that way.
i started at 38 and now im gaining steam after branding myself for 2 years !! its a Exploit to my archetype which i am the Magician!! Communication is my gift so i have a solid direction
Great episode! On a side note, I would love to hear more about that analysis of the industry vs the global money supply. I am on the same page with not believing the reports about the industry being at an all-time high. It sounds like a manipulative stat to attract investors. What are your thoughts?
I am sorry I left out wanting to thank you for this information and for all the tips on this video. Every touch of information helps cuz honestly this whole game at this point in time is way way to Convoluted. Make Good Music.xx jud🎶 A Performer at Metropolitan Opera 🎶✨
