Hey everyone. Of course, I uploaded before I caught a typo in one of the titles. My apologies! Let me know what weather mods you all are using. I've read some great suggestions and I'd love to do something like this for more weather mods in terms of lighting. As I expressed in the video, I'm not super interested in the number of weathers that get added but I love the different looks that you might get.

Great vid, my two go to weather mods. I'm always torn between the two. Perhaps comparing the lighting and the effects would be more of a fair comparising. You can also add a vivid weathers add on to adjust lighting that is a separate plug-in that works with all weather mods. Even Mythical Ages. Just load beneath.

Thank you! Mod Authors and sizes are important to include. Size especially so you don’t say “wow that looks awesome” and then go to install and it’s a 1Gb surprise, 😂

I started playing with Mythical Ages sometime last year and have not been able to go back to any other weather mod since! I absolutely love it! = )

My vote is for Mythical Ages. I know Vivid give more control, but the simplicity mixed with an over all more dramatic feel does it for me

Thanks for the comparison. I'm trying Mythical for the first time. Have used vivid, but always swapped it out for something else. I personally prefer Kyne's with Minty's Lightening. I am liking Mythical, though. Great video.

Cool video as always dude! I currently pair obsidian with true storms and it works an absolute treat. Have you tried Cathedral Weather? It’s incredible but is a really big file for weather✌🏻

It’s relatively new yeah, honestly it blew me away, but it’s 114mb so it uses up space that is tight for us anyway. I do however recommend you try it and see how good it looks, you don’t need any better sky mods or darker night mods because it’s all in there, you’ll see what I mean bethesda.net/en/mods/skyrim/mod-detail/4105720 That’s the link to it

I've been using Mythical Ages for the past several months and I'm loving it. You should always close out of your game after installing mods to be safe.

Hey @techranger, im having an issue with my skyrim. I have wet and cold, obsidian weather's and seasons, and realistic water two. When it rains now theres no water spash on the ground, nothing looks wet, and rain doesnt ripple on the surface of water. Any help?

Is Wet and Cold above or below Obsidian in your load order?

How do you use Mythical Ages? When i access it in the magic menu and select it, I can't figure out how to get the presets up? Any ideas?

You activate it like a shout after you equip it. RB. I wonder if it’d be good idea to make a quick video on the presets

Did you ever use sim settlements conqueror for fallout? It’s a recommended mod and fun!

I haven’t yet. That might be a video idea in future. I like the idea of building in Fallout but actually doing it can be a pain.

Hey techranger I notice that in many of your videos, NPCs look different. especially clothes. an example: you walked into the blacksmith's shop in whiterun and the man behind the counter had other shoulder blades by his iron armor. I notice that gaurds sometimes look different and other NPCs sometimes look different. do you know which mod this would be? I would love to install. sorry for the long story ... :-)

I believe the clothes/armor are mainly attributed with Old KIngdom Armor which overhauls most o the armor in the game. Still trying to figure out a good way to showcase that mod. As far as the faces for NPCs, check out my video about 'Making NPCs Beautiful' and that is pretty much my current set up for that. Hopefully, that helps. Thanks for hanging out!

YES. This might be a good poll but would you want it compared with another weather mod or would you rather it be solely focused on Obsidian?

TechRanger maybe, if it’s not too much to ask for cover obsidian by itself but maybe at the end or beginning have a segment showing some differences/comparisons to some popular weather mods (maybe 2 or 3)

I have been using mythical ages with better skies for months now and still never gotten the sky you have on your tumbnail. Do you have anyother mod installed as well? I fell in love with that sky!😅

It was so cool but I’m honestly not sure how to replicate it. I had Better Skies under Mythical Ages. Not sure if anything else would cause the sky to look like that.

What’s your sky load order for this video ? I have mythical ages and ton of other sky mods and I can’t seem to get any good color sky auroras

I believe I had Better Skies under Mythical Ages here. I didn’t have any issues with it being there surprisingly. That most likely gave me the crazy aurora.

Fantasy aurora might be messing with it. I’d take Better Skies out and see how it is.

@@Matt_the_TechRanger turns out it was because I had surreal lighting on too . I would check our dracos fantasy auroras though , colors look insane with mythical ages

Yeah I'm glad someone finally did a lighting comparison because people tend to neglect that aspect of weather overhauls. This video confirmed how I've always felt about Vivid Weathers. Vivid's weather is definitely more advanced and has more features but the inconsistent quality of lighting effects really holds it back. Mythical doesn't need all the fancy bells and whistles Vivid offers because it absolutely nails the lighting. For me it's the most important factor in choosing a weather mod.

@@Matt_the_TechRanger vivid but rn i deletet it , i try to get a better look to see better the disctance (Sharp), i have SNRP AIO with SNRP LODs , and i have ENFX, ENFX SHADOWS, ENFX ENHANCED SHADOWS , right now i dont have any weather mod on and it s has the best clear sharp look i could get after modding and tryin for hours, but i would be happy if you still has advice for me 😁💪🏼✌🏼

Mythical is great because it’ll come with some presets that you can use. If you just want lighting then Surreal Lighting is my go-to. Some places will naturally be foggy so I’m not sure if there is a mod that addresses that. There’s still a lot that I need to look at in terms of weather mods. There are a ton!

I added a lot of mods yesterday before starting playing again for the first time in a year, And I was disappointed cause it didn't look as good as I hoped. I have probably set some new mods in the wrong order or some just doesn't work together :/ I suck at this so if anyone wants to help me I'll be happy.

I just wanna say that, mythical weathers snow looks extremely vanilla. Like extremely vanilla so if you don't like that, like I don't like that it gets old fast.

@@xCode88x I meant it makes it shiny, like vanilla. However a mod like dolomite weathers darkens the snow. Making it less blinding and at the same time helps hide seems, which are very common in snowy terrain.

It's not Mythical, use a different snow shader.

I'm here trying to find a weather mod thats looks better then washed out climates of tamriel. I get why it looks like that but just not a fan of it. It's to hard to use display enhancements with it.

Yes! It’s a tough choice. Lighting is everything to me in a game like Skyrim. Choosing a weather mod is like choosing the look of your game. Fortunately, with Mythical Ages, you can choose from several presets.

TechRanger It’s the list of everything. Tried to place them correctly on where they needed to go in the load order but at some point almost halfway, I couldn’t figure out where a lot of them stood. Looked up some load orders online but the details on them weren’t all that helpful. Been playing fallout 4 since it came out and I still don’t know how to work the load order correctly hahaha.
