Oh..I think I know what some of the things are in a few you couldn't figure out! the one with the stone faces and hand where she's playing a violin is Easter Island statues I believe, the one that has pixels and wires with them wearing the glasses is virtual reality or like the matrix, the one with her fishing is a stag horn beetle of some type and the tea cup with the volcano goes together due to a lot of tea's are grown in volcanic soils on mountain sides, the caterpillar if you look closely is in an hour glass with her going through a metamorphosis. Each one of those illustrations has some type of meaning or something in them or about them, it's definitely an interesting book for that reason in itself.

I think that girl is in a virtual world. I think that is what it means.
