Cozy up, relax, grab your favourite beverage and join Dylann for a solo playthrough of the campaign game, Mythwind! This is a campaign board game with no victory points, no winner and one that can be played cooperatively or solo, but in either setting, will be a relaxing and unimposing experience where you can do anything you want within the confines of the game's systems.

Been a subscriber for a while, but my first time commenting: Loved all the work you put into this video. Great atmosphere. Thanks for taking us on the Ranger's spring journey. I really hope you decide to do a season with each of the other characters. I really can’t wait for my copy of Mythwind to arrive now! For anyone who missed the original Kickstarter, they are prepping a reprint campaign for March - so there's still time to jump onboard.

More of this please! I usually don’t like board game reviews because it’s hard to bring across everything a game has to offer in a review. A summery of (sometimes very extensive) rules is thrown at you which I find too much to grasp, and then the reviewer tells you what they liked and didn’t like. I find it really difficult to see if I would like a game based on that. But having seen your beautifully done solo playthrough gives a great vibe from this game. I don’t have it yet but now I’ve seen some of the options, the rules came in gradually (or just happened), and I have somewhat of an understanding of what to expect. And now I’m happy to have backed it with their current Kickstarter for the new expansion. Just have to wait for a year or so to get it.

Really cool idea. Only a few mins in and won’t have a chance to watch in full for a couple days most likely, but was amused by how the intro made it feel like you were preparing for a date with yourself.

Hey Dylan, love this concept. Great production. One note after having watched a few game days. You don't have to "spend" an inventory item when resolving a preperation outcome. You just get whatever the reward is, and keep the item you were prepared with. So close on the name. All 4 times. 😆 Been a fan of the channel for a while. Keep up the good work.

Wow I loved watching this and learning about this beautiful game. I’ve never played a campaign game before but have been working up to it 😅. Great cinematic visuals and vibe. I was sad when the video ended! Would love it if you continued on, hope others agree. Also, where can I buy this game (in Winnipeg, even better).

check to see if you FLGS backed it. They might have copies. OOMM Games is out of Canada so the odds might be higher that your local store backed the kickstarter. They are doing a reprint like they did for Stars of Akarios, so you can back and get your copy then. Should be faster the second time around because the game and files are already made.

Loved the style of video and would like to watch more aesthetic campaign videos. Other games and I am interested in more Mythwind; just had my copy come in, so I'll be playing along! I particularly enjoyed the sound effects you added to this one. The only things I did not enjoy were the rule mistakes, but I'm sure you will be more familiar with the gameplay in the next one :)

Outstanding production value! This is how it's done other board game channels. My only nitpick (and this is super minor) would be to throw a scrim/cheesecloth on that ring light and/or the other to knock down glare on the straight down shot. In the shot showing the table in the foreground where you're talking to us, the board has richness in the colors that isn't there in the top down.

Never heard of your channel (sorry!), but I too am waiting for my game. Darn Panama delays! I pulled up your video as a lark to listen to in the background but I had to stop my task because I was enjoying the vibe so much. When the rain came in, for example, your video really reached and maintained a strong level of immersion and coziness. I liked and subscribed right then and there. More of these, please.

Really liked this oresentation! Always love your energy and enthusiasm and focusing that on a sibgle player game is a great idea. Would be cool to see other big tablespace games like this that have great presence and story in this fashion, like Vagrantsong, GH Jaws of the Lion, or maybe something like Charterstone or the Stardew Valley game. Hope to see more!

Yes, I would like to see more. My main way to experience with most games is vicariously through folks like your good self. I would love it if you would continue with Mythwind and play all four (?) classes - I am also interested in any other games you might like to play in this "series". That said, don't burn yourself out doing these. Good camera work and clear voice work (clear sound) is more important than anything else, no need to overproduce. At least, that's how I feel. I would rather see more of these than have fewer that have a few fancy additions that do not enhance the playing of the game.

i am currious if i missed something... You were bothered by one pip dice, why? If there are no lose or win conditions, there is no pressure to play efficiently or smart or even need to finish goals. If I missed something in current round (season) i can do same thing in next one, or round after and so on... Art and production looks great, but idk how to approach this.

Very possible that this style of game might just not be for you, which is totally fine! You’re right that I technically don’t have to be bothered at all by the one pip dice, but approaching everything in a game like this with apathy or disregard also isn’t fun for me. So I choose to still care about times when the luck may not fall my way, but not to a degree where it ruins my enjoyment or I stress too much about the decisions or results. Everyone is different and enjoys things differently. ☺️ Thanks for watching.

It's an alright game, but don't you dare say anything that isn't positive about the game on the Discord channel. You'll get pulled aside and warned about being banned, even if you make light of an aspect that could be conceived as negative. I'm surprised not many people are making vids on this game. I wonder if it has anything to do with the people not wanting any kind of negative feedback.

Just for clarity, are you referring to Mythwind's Discord or the All You Can Board Discord? If it was the latter, I hope that we are always able to have a healthy discussion on any board games, especially in the AYCB Discord! Talking about what we don't like and what we do (in a constructive manner) is what helps this awesome hobby grow 😊. I'm sorry to hear you had this negative experience (regardless of which Discord). Playing games is always going to be subjective and I hope we all can continue to talk and think critically about games in the future!

@@AllYouCanBoard It's fine. They have a right to enforce what they wish in their channels. I am out of place challenging that, especially since I've been told I am negative or critical. I almost always have something negative to say about the entertainment I use. I even do so with my most favorite of games. I get games can't be perfect in all ways as everybody has a different view on what is good. There is a but (that isn't my backside). Some problems are just mind boggling. If you've ever seen the first release of Monster Hunter World the board game, you can understand the fustration invoked. Mythwind has far fewer mistakes, quite fewer, although the mistakes are ones that shouldn't exist because of how obvious they are. One is a misprint of a symbol on a game component. Second is incosistent wording, and use of symbology that lead to confusion. Third is the impossible requirements on some Crafter cards. My one nitpick was the size of text that myself and my bro have difficulty reading, which has lead to us putting wrong cards in the decks and lead to me asking rather pointless questions on discord. Another nitpick (this is a very minor nitpick) was the Merchant model's face had something wrong done with it. Everyone I've shown it to had the same response. It's hilariously bad. Not that YT is place to unwind issues, but if it's the only outlet to comment I guess that's all I have to work with. Even BGG has a ruthless, and stupifying selective admin. I regret ever posting there, and supporting monetarily such a platform. Should have done my research into them first, so the mistake was mine. and sorry about dumping this here. I took interesting in your vid and just needed to comment regarding the game. My bro and I have been playing this game quite a lot. We've almost min/maxed all the characters. Almost. Those goal cards can become a challenge to complete later down the line. I don't know if you are there yet, but you should see what I mean when you get there. :D We are on the fence about building the Jail just for those we really don't want to do. At some point they will be the only cards left in the goal deck since they aren't removed until you succeed them.

The ambience stuff gets a bit distracting when trying to focus on understanding the game. The game itself so far doesn't feel that interesting though. The stories are basic and the Euro game aspect is pretty basic stuff, yet you have to keep flipping between two rule books. Maybe just a little direction in the game would be nice instead of none at all.

Sounds like this type of series may not be for you! This is definitely not meant to learn the game, moreso for people who know it already or know enough of it to enjoy the relaxing vibes and see it play out. And yeah, I imagine Mythwind may not be your type of game either from the sounds of your concerns. Either way, thanks for watching!
