Rimuru’s apathetic manner really spooked me. When I realised he was mostly likely performing to fool Clayman I heaved a sigh of relief.

I’ll be honest my second time watching this through I had the same smile on my face as Rimuru because of just how well his plans going to make a complete fool out of clayman

It doesn't seem that Myulan's barrier is what really caused all of the chaos. She put up an anti-magic barrier to keep them from being able to contact Rimuru about the Milim attacking the beast kingdom. Although it locked out magic, it wouldn't prevented Shion from winning her fight as she was using pure strength and skills alone. The biggest problem was the second barrier that the church put up, basically reducing the powers of all the monsters within it. That is what really hurt them. Even Great Sage confirmed that. However Myulan DID betray them and she knew that her actions contributed to the chaos that happened, but she had no idea there was going to be some sort of attack on that day. She just thought she was preventing communication, which was supposed to be innocuous. That's why Rimuru was willing to spare her.

Man seeing this scene animated for the first time really hits different from just reading it in the mangas. The VAs emotional acting were really on point especially Youm who was literally panicking and could not think of anything but just to blurt out his willingness to sacrifice himself for the woman he loves.

Damn, Rimuru was so fast that he even fixed the shirt he pierced in an instant. that's some skill right there.

I lowkey wanted this to be an actual execution. Not that I wanted Myulan to die, I just wanted to see Rimuru be ruthless for once. But maybe we'll get that when he confronts the army. And this is perhaps the better choice, since he now has yet another ally and a future king to make relations with.

one tiny little detail that i just noticed: at about 0:49 when rimuru summons the black stuff, you can see the shape of his hand change slightly, like he's holding something. something....like a heart. and at 0:52 you can just barely see the tip of the heart peeking out from his hand. god this show is so good.

"Technically dead for 3 seconds". Well, technically you wouldn't die instantly if you got your heart ripped out. The brain still has blood/oxygen flow. It wouldn't take a very long time tho before you die of extreme blood loss, because of the gaping hole in your sternum.

This series Is really something else..all the voice actors/actress's ability to exhibit such pain in their screams among other emotions..I love this cast and this series

Man I am sad they cut out so many details or thought process from rimuru. At the end he is someone who does what benefits him. He did not keep her alive because of benevolence but because she is useful to him when it comes to youm's cooperation

Why do I feel like he specifically set it up to an extent as a "dont betray us again or it'll be for good next time"

You know, if i was Rimuru i would be very concerned about those two loyalty, they fell for a girl they barely knew, defend her when she committed a crime against tempest (she had her reasons but that doesn´t change anything), kept pleading for her and even one of them attacked Rimuru to give her the chance to escape, i mean, Really? They kinda betrayed Tempest right there and for what? A girl they barely knew? im not saying that he should execut the three but they deserve at least a punishment or something, thats just inexcusable, Myulan ended up being a good woman but what if she wasn´t? what if the next woman is actually evil? they need to be more careful.

Youm voice actor literally gives the scene all the tension. Its an increidble work to be honest. The tone, the way he speak fast, the desperation, its just perfect.

Honestly this scene is quite well done. Rimuru picked the right person to test this on, and announced her execution just in case it wouldn't work so it doesn't seem like an accident or something. So even if he wasn't able to revive her, he wouldn't really be at fault for executing her considering the damage she caused

This is one of the only moments in the anime that ACTUALLY has a darker overall theme, somehow the anime was lighthearted while Shion and the other goblins were dead. In the LN at least, the atmosphere was gloomy and depressed, not enthusiastic. It almost made me think that Rimuru was happy, which he sure as hell wasn’t.
