We've noticed that some device prompt for 4 digits and some for 6. We're not sure if this is because a different iPadOS, iOS or MacOS version is being used. Either way it works the same.
6 digit code is for vCast. If you want to use AirPlay you must select screen mirroring from your Apple device. Once you select the device from your screen mirroring option the code will appear.

I have two boards in my room. They both are connected to the same network and have all their settings adjusted the same. I can cast onto one board, but not the other. Any suggestions to fix this?
If the settings are all correct, there might be something else preventing casting. We suggest reaching out to ViewSonic Support to get a specialist involved. www.viewsonic.com/us/customer-service-form/
You do not need an upgrade key for Airplay. It's possible your network settings are not correct to enable Airplay. We recommend reaching out to Customer Service so we can better support you: www.viewsonic.com/us/customer-service-form
Hi Wendi! Generally when devices don't display it's a network issue however, it's a little difficult to troubleshoot over RU-vid comments so if you could, fill out a Customer Contact form and we'll find a good way to get in touch with you! www.viewsonic.com/customer-service-form
It is not possible. Airplay will always require a passcode when you try to connect. This can help stop accidental casting from others as you must be at the board and see the code to begin sharing your screen.
