Lovely road, also known as El Cañarete from the port of Almería to Aguadulce. You're lucky, it is common to find this road blocked because of rocks falling through the cliffs, so you have to go through A-7 to reach Aguadulce and Roquetas de Mar. I'd rather started one km before, near the port, so you can see the entrance to A-7 and the tunnel right behind the roundabout. Happy yo see my city in this channel, thank you so much!

Here in Almería, that road in known as "El cañarete". It's a very controversial road because of the rocks near the road (rockfall) and many accidents when people drive to their jobs. People prefer the A-7 highway. But what we cannot forget is the beautiful views. I recomend you the National road from Castell del Ferro to Calahonda (Granada) . The views are similar and very lovely to see and enjoy
Pero las vistas del cañarete es otra historia, si puede q tenga alta tasa de accidente, pero esas vistas son preciosas y mas con esa carretera recien pavimentada (tras año de obra)
Yo acabo de pasar por esa calle.estube en Roquetas de mar pues hay vive mi pareja.yo pasé el 13 de enero de este nuevo año.me quedo sorprendido cuando mire esas montañas que sin saber nada le dije al taxista que esas montañas se ven como si a miles de años estuvieron sumergidas bajo las aguas del mar.yo soy de América
This stretch is a very scenic coastal road! About how old the tunnels are, after comparing historical aerial photos, all I can say is they were built at some point between 1957 and 1978. My guess is the early 1970s, after the first REDIA plan.

Almería-Aguadulce, impresionante trayecto para el que le guste conducir y unas vistas como esas. Lo mejor es bajar al puerto de Aguadulce despues de ese recorrido y refrescar con una cerve jejejej
Por esa carretera puedes ir a Aguadulce o Roquetas, aunque más rápido por la autovía. Yo siempre voy por aquí por ver las vistas del mar aunque entiendo que si no estás acostumbrado impresiona la montaña 🤣😱 si hay tormenta mejor no vayas
Thanks for posting this. I have usually driven to RdeM via the A7 from the airport and often thought about trying that road out. I love the road from Villericos to Pulpi etc that's an epic road, exhilarating but broody too😱 The road up to Enix/Felix is awesome too. Cheers DougT
Great video. On my yearly family trip to Melilla we would catch the ferry in Almería and as we would always arrive very early we would drive to Aguadulce to make some time.
Aquella carretera antigua anterior a la presente , de Almería a Aguadulce, sí que era emocionante. Y entonces no había autovía para evitarla. Conducir por ella con un "seisciento" era conducir de verdad.
I've lived in Aguadulce for nearly 4 years and El Cañarete has been closed off a few times because of rocks falling. Proper scary stuff! It'd be nice to see another video going all the way to Roquetas via the seafront as it is a gorgeous little town. :)

I thought as much, the tunnels looked rather recent (not 1960s style). Though did those tiny coastal roads carry all traffic until 1986-87? Some of those roads bypassed by these tunnels are hardly wider than a single vehicle.
@@EuropeanRoads yes spain in the 80s all the traffic of the A-7 was carried by coast into single lane road traffic was once lower but it required so much time and it was really hard , for example before the opening of the A-7 at costa del sol there was traffic jams everywhere especially in malaga which it took more than an hour to enter the city

Esa carretera va desde Almería capital a aguadulce, la carretera es conocida y nos referimos a ella como el cañarete los que somos de Almería y alrededores.
Un día de lluvia vi un hombre con una mochila, se le veía perdido y asustado, pues estaba lloviendo y anocheciendo, y esta carretera es peligrosa y más para ir andando, me dijo llevaba horas intentando parar un coche y nadie paraba, nos gusta el paisaje y ver el mar, pero no ayudar al prójimo, por eso el ser humano, está cavando sin darse cuenta su propio destino.

Eso no es Roquetas esa carretera se llama el cañarete y luego se ve aguadulce y el parador .esta es la antigua carretera Almería Málaga antes d hacer la autovía que queda por encima
perdona pero eso es aguadulce asi que hay que respetar los municipios por su debido nombre y no sobreponerlos porque sea un barrio de roquetas. tiene un nombre y se llama aguadulce no se llama roquetas
