Join me in this video where I make a start on my new exhibition layout 'The Cruel Sea'.
I will be covering the excellent Grainge & Hodder custom baseboard and canopy arrangement and also the superb infra red shuttle units from Block Signalling.

This looks superb. Block Signalling are great, agreed! I've had great service from them for a random shuttle (SS1-R ) for Udford Wood Halt. Just bought their shuttle with the built in Speed controllers for the next project. Your build looks great and sounds promising. All the best with it. Jules

It looks excellent to date. I have noticed when model boats appear on railway layouts, little attention is paid to how the boats/ships are moored up. Proper mooring requires large fenders between ship and dock, a gang plank and several mooring lines to include bow and stern lines plus bow and stern springs. Correct diameter 'ropes' can be obtained from the model boating fraternity. The mooring lines should also sag, and this can be effected by soaking the lines in water until they hang naturally.

Thanks for watching. You’re absolutely correct Michael. Check out my Lyallcombe quay layout video. The only thing that’s tricky is creating the sag. I have tried diluted PVA on the mooring ropes in the past with mixed results. I’m a few episodes away from tackling this yet😉Thank you for monitoring my progress. Jason

Nice an epic build- I've used G&H too. Hope to get some boards from them again.💜😊👍✌️ I'd have felt sick if that were an O Gauge Pannier going overboard 😳😳💔🤕 Hopefully it didn't do too much damage🤞🤞🙏 I hope that G&H prices haven't gone up too much, I need some boards made - everything seems to be sky rocketing due to the evil elites that rule o' us💔🙄🙄💔🥴

Nice job, but maybe move the track that's closest to the boat, closer to the boat, as there's limited reach on it.
