Wondering if there's a SPI or an I2C bus somewhere you could plug in. That way it would be possible to use software instead of the hardware buttons to toggle Bluetooth, and even fake-plugging a 3.5" jack to force external audio output.

I know this videos old, but just in case you do see this, here are my ideas. 1 - tracker Maybe it’s possible to fit a tracker inside a 3ds, like an apple AirTag or something like that. I’m going to try it myself because I lost my 3ds once. 2 - mini solar panel on top It could connect to the back via wire or use your wireless charging to always be charging and it would be difficult to run out of battery. Maybe these ideas suck but you said you were running out so hopefully this helps Edit: I wonder if it’s possible to make a thick 3ds case with solar on top and wireless charging inside so whenever you put your 3ds in it’s case it automatically charges. Probably very difficult, but dang that would be cool
your last idea is the most possible, but both are inefficient, wireless charging has loss of power, and needs like 2a to charge 1a, while solar panels have the same, they dont charge fast, so you'd lose twice, the airtag idea is possible. i've literally modded an airtag yesterday to work with a powerbank so i can put it in my car, it can be done in the 3ds, but it would take 3V, i've actually killed an airtag with 3.6v, it takes 3.12v max, so you have to place a tiny stepdown converter, which i have now
At 8:17 i noticed that you had some ds games on your home menu in the bottom right corner. Would you be able to explain this? Did you install these games through cias? Or am i missing something and i'm stupid for asking.
They're forwarders. (search "forwarder3-DS", you should find a gbatemp thread) notice how he has a DS flash cart in it. basically you use a program to create installable CIAs that when launched from home menu direct the 3ds to open the game from the DS flash card. the program makes it pretty simple, but not all DS cards are supported.

I always wanted to do a shell swap most of all, don't really care too much about anything else, maybe swap out the analog stick and the C-Stick to be a bit more easier to access. I have a couple of those 3-game swapper things I've been itching to look into and modify and I want to make a custom shell with grips and implement the 3-game swapper built in. But until I get something like a 3D printer (or resin printer) I don't think I'll be able to do any of that. But this does make me think I want to do the mods to allow streaming onto my computer, to capture A/V for videos.
All that, & no screen protectors? 😂No dust caps for charging port or card reader? No 3D printed comfort grip from Etsy? No charm on the back through the wrist strap loop? thanks man, any of the jokes you named i didn't want :D screen protects are pretty unneeded on a closing system, i actually do have dust caps for all the ports, barely ever use them though, i have a case where the console goes in to when not used, 3d printed from etsy i wont need, got two 3d printers myself =P and sytlus with pokemon on the end? fuck i knew i forgot some sick ass mod to do
well you can actually really get that using an smartphone + moonlight, i've been playing gta 5 and other pc games on my phone using a ds4 controller for years, and nowadays even on my carplay

you'd need already a backup from your nand, without a backup already, you can't restore it, what you can do is buy a motherboard from aliexpress, i have done that before, works great

Was it easy to change the LEDs to other colours? i wanted to try making them purple white and blue. also what mods would you recommend for newbies ( im starting with swapping shells, c stick buttons ) i really want to change the status led colours after i saw the homebrew app that made the led rainbow
The leds are probably the hardest ive done haha, but all my mods are pretty manageable, i’d start with the software, then in hardware just what you need and want
I like the cool features, but the main thing I wanna do to my 3DS is get the case swapped and get a new screen. The resolution is really bad. Especially when playing games like Ocarina of Time or Major’s Mask. What do you suggest I do?
Yes there is, but its not as you think, i have a video on it, its called “my 3ds xl is a switch” or something, made it before the switch came out, i was using a ps3 controller, but its funny how it works, you run the controller on the pc, and mod software on the 3ds and pc would communicate and then the pc controls the 3ds with what you do on the controller

Nope, the bluetooth is hooked to the audio, you can run a controller though another mod though, ive shown it in my “n3ds can do what switch does” video

check task manager, obs while recording really get's heavy, my laptop has a i7 3ghz quad core processor and nvidia 540m, 2012 laptop, it can run it fine, but not much more then that, 12gb ram 1860mhz
does normal charging still work with the wireless charging mod? If not, this mod seems pretty useless. you cannot use your 3ds while charging that way lol

Yup this did the trick lol Im hard modding my n3dsxl lol I have a few ideas on a wireless charging dock and maybe I'll do an external antenna mod for an upgraded antenna lol I already have a booster that I use for my laptop that works wonders and all I need is an rp-sma pigtail from the PCI port on the 3ds to make it work lol total overkill but eh why not lol

Can I have more of an explanation on how to change the LED colors for the 3ds? I saw the imgur pictures but I don't understand them that well, I guess what I am asking is how you soldier the LED lights to turn them different colors.
Phoenix Knight you mean the hdmi out? Thats something they bought, there are two dudes who do it, i didnt need it since i dont record or stream 3ds, also mine can do it wireless. Which was sufficient. I dont like to let others do mods for me, takes the fun away.
if you have custom firmware on your 3ds (luma), you can install ntr, and ntr can stream your display from the 3ds though wifi, to your pc, i have a full guide on setting that up too, but you do need the custom firmware.
so i i tthink i bricked my new 3ds xl red version i tryed restiring with dectriped9 because i was on 11.2 and i had my 9.2 nand.bin that i backed up with gateway card so will nintendo fix my bootrom bricked new 3ds

Not a hard one to do, just gotta decide if you’re willing to put it in permanent, and if you wanna open the console for it or not, either of that works
you mean like a case? that would not be a mod then, mod's are supposed to void warranty :P if have a matt case you could paint the case, it's not part of the console so no warranty that will be voided.
Did everything same. Even bought a dongle. The only different between us is that my Connectifty is hosting hotspot from my desktops internal wifi card because my router is in a different room. You are hosting with dongle from your WIRED right? I am thinking .... perhaps I can buy a wifi range extender that has an Ethernet port , thus giving my desktop a wired connection, but the extender would be getting internet from wifi router in the end anyway... so maybe that wouldn't make anything better. What do you think?
also another question, i bought a n300 "tenda" range extender that essentially plugged in right next to my 3ds on my desk to power outlet, and basically made a hotspot/access point from my wifi. but quality sucked too. maybe i need to get a much better range extender? (but i still have to get a 2.4 ghz one right because 3ds cant do 5ghz) will it be better or do all range extenders suck?
it are just regular smd led's you can get them on every electronic shop/store, i'm from the netherlands so i'd doubt that it would help where i got them from :p but anyway i got them from a dutch led webshop, led-buy.nl
yes, those are trickier to find, because you still want a good color ofc, and red/orange are colors that just take less voltage so that's why i atleast went with a dope orange then =)
