Really helpful video, congrats. What about Noctifier Lieutenant? You can start with your L. In hidden deployment safe from any threat and in their last order make some aro with him (hopefully delay aro) for revealing himself and dont start your turn with lol state isn’t? And if you start you can deploy as camo marker instead of hidden evading the lol issue. I think its a good option in some aggro scenarios instead of other common lieutenant options.
So, there are a few reasons why a Noctifer Lt can be risky and/or a little inefficient. First of all, you're paying 1 SWC for that Noctifer Lt. And positioning yourself in a way that allows you to reveal on their last order can be very dangerous. Remember, you can of Delay vs an enemy marker. If you want to reveal yourself vs a non-marker-state model in ARO, you must shoot or dodge. So you're putting yourself at a lot of risk for that! And if you *can't* reveal safely before your turn, you start in Loss of Lieutenant, which is really bad. If you want to do a camo Lt, I highly highly recommend the Mentor. No SWC cost, Counterintelligence, WIP 14, AND a Decoy camo marker to help him hide! He's all you could want in a camo Lt, and in Shasvastii, we have plenty of ways to back him up in defense. Hope this helps, and thanks for watching! :) - Nathan
Good day. I recently decided to start learning infinity and watched all of your faction videos. I really like 0-12, shasvastii, aleph. After reading rules and playing one game with proxies I picked on basics. However, I am still struggling to pick my first faction. Would you recommend a faction which potentially can alpha strike well with one character. I heard of sphinx being able to do that. What about other units and factions?
Welcome! Most factions will have access to some sort of alpha strike unit! But if you specifically want a character, then these are the ones to check out: For O-12, check out Cuervo Goldstein, Hippolyta and Andromeda. For Aleph, check out Achilles, Andromeda, and Dart. And for Shasvastii, check out Sheskiin and maybe Corax Hasht. Hope this helps! - Nathan
Sorry but I am confused. How do you get a "guided" multi sniper rifle and where in the rules does it indicate that guided attacks gain the blast template rule? Thanks for doing these videos. I find them informative and helpful. Cheers.
Thanks for watching! The guided rules are found in the BS Attack section: infinitythewiki.com/BS_Attack Troopers with the BS Attack (Guided) Skill listed on their Unit Profile: During the Active Turn, they may perform a BS Attack against a target in Targeted State, without requiring LoF. They will perform a BS Roll with a +6 MOD, ignoring all other MODs except those imposed by ECM or TinBots to Guided Attacks. Unless the Skill itself indicates otherwise, the B will always be 1 regardless of the actual B value of the Weapon or any MODs applied to the B. This BS Attack always applies the Impact Template (Circular) Trait, even if the weapon used does not have the Trait. The distance to the target cannot exceed the weapon's maximum Range. The target cannot be in an enclosed room, a possible trajectory for the Attack must always exist. BS Attack (Guided) has a limit of 5 Attacks per Turn for the Active Player. Only weapons that use the BS Attribute may be used with the BS Attack (Guided) Skill. Hope this helps! - Nathan
