I got a 2010 bmw 535i e60 and that intercooler fitment was perfect! I was looking at vrsf or arm fmic however I just don’t want to do so much cutting, this answered my worries about fitment and cutting.
how’s the performance on it ? i heard ebay parts can be a hit or miss. i also don’t wanna cut anything. so was the fitment perfect when installing the intercooler ??
@@Slow_C6hey dude, so i got a 08 535i and i got this intercooler and you have to trim a couple inches of useless thin plastic (i did it with scissors lol) this hooked up to the oem quick clamp pipes which made it significantly easier compared to if you got a vrsf. As for performance, it just so happens my buddy has a n54 with the same mods and he has a vrsf intercooler. We both tested and monitored intake temps on the same day within 20 mins of each other My car hovered at 10f above ambient temps, we did two 0-100 pulls back to back and it didn’t got higher then 15 degrees above ambient temp. His car we did the same thing two 0-100 pulls on the same night, with the vrsf went 57 degrees above ambient temp. So this intercooler absolutely destroys vrsf one.
I’m picking up a 535i (X drive) and will probably be utilizing your videos for it quite a bit man. Keep it up. I’ll try and film my process as well. Great content man.
Most people don’t know this, but the 5 series has a full aluminum front end! (Hood fenders and core support) Which is why the weight difference is not that much, even tho the 5 series is much bigger.
Clean car bro. I got one I'm building right now (08 e60 535i). Got my 7in intercooler I'm about to install and was stuck on where to relocate the trans cooler. Amazing idea! Clean and still gets airflow. I'm subbing just for the innovation. Good shit bro!!💪🤙
Hey your passion for great builds underway is of most note. Both road cars stir ones lust for g force. Keep up the informative installations. The down pipes and huge intercooler. Installed two new mits windmills and a pop off valve . Old cooler inter b
@@andricksgarage8745 That’s it? Not bad at all, I really wish I could’ve found somebody to do mine. Nobody will even help me with my fitment issues after I took two days sun up sun down to install mine.
Did you have to remove The axle support housing on the oil pan, im planning to install my vrsf downpipes on Thursday, Im using the installation guide by Pelican parts rn, do you know any other good recourses for a step by step guide on the awd models also do you know of any other difference for the awd that I will have to do other than disconnecting the passenger side axle? Love the build.
It’s not 100% necessary to remove the axle support. But it will definitely give you more room. I was doing my oil pan gasket so it needed to come out anyway.
Yo man just subscribed! I love the videos and content, I have a 08 535xi and you've given me alot of inspiration! Off topic but how did you install the paddle shifters? I've been wanting to upgrade my steering wheel but I can't find any support and all I've seen are retrofit diy . Any response is greatly appreciated bro! 🤙
Hey. Interesting would been more detailed views for fitting the intercooler and the trans cooler. Was it possible to use the standard bracket? Have you may a picture how to cut out this part? Thanks 🤙
I used the stock trans cooler mount, but flipped up against the bumper support. I drilled two holes in the bumper support to hold the stock mount in place. I also had to cut the stock mount to allow air flow through it.
Kind of makes me want to sell my 7.5” vrsf intercooler for one of those ebay ones. It’s the last thing i need for a FBO but it’s been such a pain to fit in there correctly.
@@Mickeymouse-lc2ys stuck with that vrsf 7.5" intercooler. Just needed to make my own brackets out of scrap metal and my tig welder. Also needed some 3" - 2.5" reducers for now.
I just wish you wouldn’t have gone through so fast and actually explained the steps for removing the front passenger control arm and hub. The other videos out there on the 335i’s explain everything else enough for me but since I have the same 535i X Drive I’d like to know what tools are required to remove the passenger control arm and hub as well as torque specs and what not.
You can look at any E90 or E92 X Drive front suspension removal and it will be the same process. Torque specs are all available online. Please let me know if you have any specific questions I can answer.
i have a 2010 535i Xdrive, on stage 2 plus tune with just over 400HP... love my car! very fast fun car!.. just wish mine was a manual! 😒.. all i have done is the charge pipe, BOV, down pipes, step colder spark plugs, and MSD stage 2 plus tune.. stock intercooler and everything else... next is my intercooler, inlets, transmission tune and meth injection... then i will daily it for a year and then im going to sell it...i just hit 85k miles today... will be selling it around 100k miles what would people pay for it?> very clean! also lots of interior upgrades..system...etc... 😈
I have 535xi 2010 aswell. It’s stock, but I’ll start mods soon. How much power did you get on. Stage2 + with upgraded intercooler ? Also I want to ask you if this cars have oil cooler from factory.
I used the stock trans cooler mount, but flipped up against the bumper support. I drilled two holes in the bumper support to hold the stock mount in place. I also had to cut the stock mount to allow air flow through it.
How was the fitment with those down pipes did you do any modifications to clear the front axle bracket ? Or they bolt right up with no problem? And great video 👍
I got the x Drive version as well, and am having fitment issues all around. There’s about an inch gap between the downpipe and axle, but when I’m turning left 25+ mph they will rub together.
@@EHOONS Not lowered. This is just what I was told by my local indy, although they also were wrong about my front end clunk coming from my lower control arms because I replaced those but it’s still there..
Yo are those catless downpipes and if so how does that effect your emission test since I believe you said in another video you still have your secondary cats
Downpipes are the only thing that will effect your emissions readings. You won’t pass a catalytic converter test with catless downpipes. It depends on your state if that affects passing or not.
How did you get that axle out and is it still the oem one? I've been trying to take mine out to put the stock cats back in order to pass emissions but it won't come out more than like 3-4". I think i even broke the axle at the second knuckle trying to pull it. At this point with all the time and struggle i wish i had just dropped the subframe.
