Thanks for this video! Actually, there isn't much proper backgroundinfo about this game on YT. So, this video might end up being a pretty good idea in the long run. I definitely remember liking the Frankenstein-like character designs when this came out.
The arcade version could have been cool with some polishing maybe. It definitely feels different than the PSX version. The N64 offering I don’t think I’d even entertain though.
@@ScarletSprites appreciate your honesty. Tinkering/fixing definitely counts as “playing” to me. Lol. Better than just buying and keeping it sealed. That side of the hobby has gotten out of hand IMO but to each they own.
Hey mate, I really love your video production and am researching what I need to invest in to start a non-gaming based channel (but with, ideally the same level of quality of production). What exact hardware and software do you use?
I use a Panasonic Lumix G7 camera (getting up there in age but it still gets the job done). For audio I use a Rode VideoMic Pro. I edit in Magix Vegas 19.0 but have also used Adobe Premiere. Vegas isn’t great but I can’t seem to break myself from the habit of using it.
@@ScarletSprites You're a legend, I really appreciate the reply mate. It's really tough trying to decide what equipment to invest in to create some RU-vid content (that maybe no one will watch). Your combination of equipment/software produces a very professional result... or maybe you're just very talented (or both?!). Thanks again. Enjoy the rest of your week!
...now you have to make a Star Wars Masters of Teras Kasi cab. "You do not yet realize your importance. You've only begun to discover your power! Create it, and it will complete your training! With your combined strength, you can end this destructive conflict, and bring order to the galaxy."
Just kind of the mood when putting it together. The game was so bad and the process of swapping chips isn’t necessarily over exciting by itself. Just kind of went with it.
Honestly I think the humor is something that you might want to use more of. It helps break up some of the more descriptive sections which over time start to get tedious. Wish more RU-vidrs did it cause sometimes it literally makes ya sleepy hearing constant descriptions without a chuckle break.
I was looking at the time line for this and thought it was a little tough to believe that War Gods and MK4 came out first. Still, the arcade version is unfinished/unpolished and could have been decent had they dumped more time into it I suppose.
I enjoy your videos and when you do crazy stuff like this. My inner geek felt bad for you on this one. Games like this are prototype for a reason I suppose. In the end it's all about exploration and the fun of discovery.
Thanks man! Dramatics aside it’s still a good board, good chips, and the game can be swapped in for casual fun whenever the mood strikes. The beauty is that it isn’t permanent. I’ll probably switch to Mace to be honest.
Yeah this thing can go right back to Blitz 99 and it will get played just as much. Actually, I should have shown Mace running on it. That’s what I’ll probably leave it as. Even that is better than Bio Freaks.
Scarlet that is exactly something I would do 🤣 go through all of that and be like hmmmmmm won’t get that part of my life back 😝 awesome video though! I’m hiding in my garage trying not to make any noise cause my kids are sleeping and you throw in that pic of the bar “chick “ and I almost shot coffee out my nose man thanks a lot sucka 🤣 Cute little stinker by the way, little monster will grow into this hobby with a great mentor Obi Wan 😁👍🏼
@@ScarletSprites very true 🤣 And by the way I absolutely love Final Vendetta !! Such a fun game, I love that urban style setting in my beat em up games. I am a huge fan of the Vendetta game and would love to own the original PCB one day. But as always... Burning Fight 4life !!
Definitely a unrefined game I wonder how it would have fared if it was brought to market and further developed. The cabinet artwork is amazing and the joysticks have a button at the top that is very unique as an extra micro switch input. I have an original dedicated cabinet and game board. Not many in existence as many were destroyed after arcade testing.
@@ScarletSprites Yes it is hover control. I am going to attempt to do the power up baseball midway prototype build here once I get the time out of a golden tee 98 board.
@@MotoXrhino Nice. I did the Power-Up Baseball game a while back. It’s a fun project but not such a great game. I think if I had a dedicated trackball machine I’d leave it hooked up but sadly I don’t. It’s just a pain to setup if I want to play so I’m sure that factors into it. Good luck though, it’s fun recreating what could have been from the past.
#RealStuff … I know I’ve tested the n64 carts for resale but I never spent any real time with this game. But this was a well executed and unique idea for an episode! Fascinating.
Only reason I remembered the game is the weird looking guy on the cover that did stand, but I was definitely saving my 12/13 year old saving for something else on the N64 (likely the Next big Nintendo/Rareware release)
So happy to see that you are making the child earn his keep; better flash his SAG credentials in the opening/closing credits per episode moving forward HA!
I had forgotten this crappy game I hired from blockbusters back in the day on n64, what a crapper I may have to use the bleach idea to re cleanse it from my brain
I played that a few times in the arcade and just ended up thinking I was burned out on fighters. It really wasn’t that great though was it? Still, if I found a board I’d be tempted.
@@ScarletSprites the WarGods port for N64 was such a stinker. The Arcade I never really played. N64 had some really bad releases. Those fuzzy and blurred graphics.
Yeah, there was so much garbage being cranked out because everyone was trying to capitalize on the fighting game craze. Add 3D into the mix and it was a truly awful combo.
Super lame. It was that gross period of time where we didn’t think we were quite done with the fighting game craze AND 3D was here. The worst combination.
At least you weren't trying to burn a CD using a virtual Cd unit to play that virtual CD on a Sega Cd emulator... That would have been a real waste of time.
Boy was it. Not to be dramatic but I vividly recall this time period casting some doubt on gaming a bit. I back tracked a bit to SNES and actively searched out 2D games for current Gen hardware.
You kind of dodged a bullet, lol. Perhaps a bit dramatic as there are some fun games and multiplayer is pretty good. Overall though the library is pretty weak imo.
Thankfully I’ve never had the ‘pleasure’ of playing this one on the N64 - I think the box art and janky graphics on the box screenshots were enough to make me put it straight back on the shelf back in the day….Recently sold my 2 x N64 consoles and Everdrive 64 anyway so looks like I’ll have to miss out!…Planning on getting a MiSTer though so maybe one day it can happen! 😅
@@ScarletSprites I’ve sold both N64’s, a SNES, Wii, GameCube with GB Player, Dreamcast, CMVS, DS Lite, GBA and a Framemeister and various Flashcarts over the past month! Basically I’ve just kept the consoles that natively output HDMI as I’m done with the aging old hardware and upscalers, Scart switchers etc. The MiSTer will be my go to for retro gaming from now (along with the Analogue consoles) - looking forward to jumping on board with it all! 👍🏼
@@RemoWilliams1227 It’s actually felt great getting rid of all that old hardware - sure it’s nice to have original consoles from a nostalgia perspective but as things have come so far with Fpga based gaming and it basically being indistinguishable from the real thing (and far less hassle as no need for upscalers, specific cables etc) it’s hard to justify not going that route. Plus those awesome CPS Arcade cores and the other arcade games that are available through MiSTer are a huge draw for me! 👍🏼🙂
Lmfao that bleach finger wash was hilarious. Everyone on the internet hates the n64 and I love it so much. Dreamcast and n64 are my favorite consoles and Star Wars Episode 1 is my favorite Star Wars movie so what does that tell u about me. The only thing the internet hates more then n64 is episode 1 lmfao I’m such a toothless Dufas
I never wanted to play this crap, but I will give it a try again. Something cool is chd was made for mame and you can use a script to make bins&cue into chd. I'm going to make a chd of the psx verion and give it a try on duckstation. I enjoyed this video.
I cheated and just ran it off the PlayStation Classic. No further efforts will be spent. I will say that of the three versions I’ve played that the PSX version is the best (of the worst).
Jokes aside, to be completely fair the arcade version doesn’t look terrible and with some tightening up could have been decent. The N64 might not be the benchmark to judge by.
Bro it was half good but the greatest thing ever the last game to let you lose limbs amazing to me and better then busto blade in my opinion don’t talk trash about bio freaks brother wish you would’ve played it then
The PSX version is fine, maybe the best of the three versions. The N64 entry is pretty rough and the arcade original is better looking but unfinished unfortunately. If I went back I’d definitely go the PSX route.
Finally another guy that loathes the N64 as much as I do. While there was a couple of decent games on that system, generally speaking it was a lousy console and had many of the ugliest games. ;)
There's far more than "a couple". 4 of the best wrestling games ever are on it alone. But I understand. And I will admit that most games (visually) do not age well. Nonetheless, it too was a banger console.
I think multiplayer is where the console saved itself (imo). I enjoyed Mario like almost everyone else but then quickly realized that the graphics style we were looking at wasn’t ever going to get “better”. I probably played way more Waverace than most people.
Sorry, you thought today’s video was considered e-begging? Asking people to like, comment, subscribe, or join at the end of a video? It’s considered almost a must do on the platform and quite honestly, incredibly light compared to 95% of my counterparts.
@@ScarletSprites RU-vidrs shouldn’t be asking viewers for cash payments. It’s ubiquitous on the platform but it doesn’t mean it’s right. RU-vidrs aren’t charities. Especially ones who own very valuable items.
Really, are we talking about the “join” comment that is made for a fraction of a second at the end of the video? That’s what the animosity is about? It’s frustrating to have intentionally avoided “e begging” Paypal links, PO Boxes, Patreon, etc but get called out for a simple join feature which is part of the platform. I myself sponsor several creators because I know that this can be a thankless time intensive hobby at times. A few others asked to reciprocate. Just ignore it and try to enjoy the other 9:59 of the videos if you can.
