Just to point out guys, it's easy to make a physical backup direct to another micro sd if you have a PC and a couple of micro SD readers by copying and pasting. You can also copy them into a folder in your storage drive. Amonei disk cloning won't work. 🤚
I'm glad you picked F zero , I didnt know what it was called . My friend used to own this game , we used to play it. I didn't have the N64 I was still a l mega drive owner! Back then I was on the dole , so I could not afford to get another computer. Anyway I have just bought a N64 from eBay , so I have just been able to buy F zero. Cheers for the video.
If you already have a PAL N64, you don't even have to try to hunt down a NTSC unit to play NTSC games at 60hz with this multicart. Just load up an NTSC ROM, and the PAL N64 will automatically output a 60hz NTSC signal to run the game. For those who enjoy suffering, it also works the other way around. An NTSC N64 will output 50hz PAL if you load up a PAL rom on this cart.

Fun fact: the N64 supports both 50 and 60 Hz out of the box. Get a flashcart with Ultra CIC (like that one) and you can play any game from any region on any console. I play American games on my PAL console without issues using a ED64 Plus (same thing in a black shell). The current Everdrive 64 2.5 Clones also fix issues the original had, just stay away from the earlier ones. Those had pretty shit built quality and the earliest didn't even have CIC built in.
@@Gold2thGaming I got into budget flashcarts (say cheap Chinese clones) a while ago and learned quite a bit about how they function. In case of the N64 ones (at least in case of the ED64 Plus and Super 64, not aware of other clones) you want to avoid everything with micro USB port. The KY Technology Everdrive clones (recognizable by the leaf on the PCB) are surprisingly good. The SNES ones take a moment to flash the games, but are great otherwise. The "Pro Rev. 1.6" doesn't support games with enhancement chips (which make up 4.3% of the library, most being Japan exclusives, the more expensive Pro Rev 2.5 DSP version raises the compatibility to 97.7%), but at a quarter the cost of even the cheapest FX PAK PRO clones (let alone the real deal) you can't really complain. The Everdrive MD (Mega Everdrive clone) supported everything I threw at it so far (the one game that is officially unsupported is Virtua Racing) and runs Master System games without issue as well since the Mega Drive is backwards compatible. Even the normally pretty shitty R4 clones you get for under ten bucks (r4i Gold/SDHC/Dual Core ect.) for the Nintendo DS work great when you install sonething called "RetroGameFan Multi Cart Update" instead of the stock software. Games with aggressive copy protection like Pokemon Black 2 work without cracks and patches. Cloned flashcarts have come a long way, I remember the time when Everdrive clones were expensive and barely worked. And hell, a cloned GDEMU (drive replacement for the Dreamcast) costs roughly 35 bucks and runs all but three games perfectly, and two out of the three that don't only have minor issues. Plenty of material for future videos if you ask me.
You are extremely knowledgeable and many people could learn from this for sure. i only purchased these multicarts just to show a cheap way to play on original hardware,which I personally think is the way to play or at least original controller. @@Gold2thGaming Glad I can share, I've been into modding and retro gaming for a long time now. Oh yeah, ironically enough there's shitty knock offs of the cloned R4 carts as well. Those are the same functionality wise, but the production quality is amazingly cheap even by Chinese bootleg standards. When you buy one, make sure it comes in a cardboard box and reads "www.r4isdhc.com" above the pins. Aliexpress is a good source. Most say something like "2018 VERSION! 2021 VERSION!" ect. on the label, you can safely ignore that. The current r4i carts come with a "time bomb" in the software that renders them unusable after a certain date so you go out and buy a new one. It's all bullshit, though, the hardware hasn't changed since 2014. You can run 2021 software on a cart from 2017 and it will work, not that you'd want to. The RetroGameFan software is based on YSmenu and removes the issue entirely. It's pretty basic in terms of interface and functionality, but it has all you'll ever need to play NDS games. Only downside is that DSi enhanced games will run like you're using a standard DS, but that's a hardware issue. There's only a handful of affected games anyway and the "enhancements" I have seen so far were less than stellar. Works fine on 3DS as well, btw. All the "variants" you find online (Gold/SDHC/Dual Core) only differ in color and name.
I have a few ds R4’s laying around from purchases off other people,i will check those first and see 👍🏻i been collecting for 35 years but never got into handhelds that much apart from older handhelds when times was much simpler.Any way i can show vids to help people with older gaming the better as I understand that people these days have to pay up big time for a lot of games and people deserve to play some of better titles to understand gaming origins. No problem, the real reason i decided to get one is that n64 is hard to emulate with these budget systems. There's lots of n64 products still around on the market, people refurb these old systems for a hobby and put them back out on the market, you can even upscale them on HDMI etc.
Definitely a hard console to emulate for budget systems for sure.For the money them carts are brilliant and you get to play on original console & pad as they should be 🕹
