N64 Rainbow Road (3 Laps) - Mario Kart Wii 

To anyone who says that N64 Rainbow Road is a boring track, I think the newer games have spoiled you. Before single player VS. modes were made available in later games, the only way you could race this track was the GP mode and the game rewarded you for having to solider through Yoshi Valley and Banshee Boardwalk. It was a test of endurance that focused more on the racing than battling with very few obstacles, other than the chain chomp. It saved the longest track for last to put your driving skills to the test. The whole point of the retro tracks were to show off how far Mario Kart has come and by enhancing the graphics and cutting the length, it ceases to be N64 Rainbow Road. I think Mario Kart 9 should introduce a third cup just for enhanced HD remakes. That way the tracks that were already in a retro cup could make its way into a third game.

That race was almost 8 minutes but at least Yoshi got first place.

While I like Mario Kart 8's version, this version's way more faithful to the original and therefore feels the most nostalgic. :')

This is the perfect and complete 3 lap version of N64 Ranbow Road. Nostalgia at its finest!

Two years in, and I still prefer this version of the course, over Mario Kart 8's version. The actual 'Road' has the see through, fruit roll up "stripe" look, the sky is jet black (as if you were in space), has the neon character portraits, and the actual track layout wasn't butchered, altered or shortened in a fair amount of places, i.e. reversing turns around the Grand Star and shortening the hell out of the uphill stretch to the finish line, for instance. And while I find the remix good, I still prefer the instrumentation of the original also, plus it had more bass. Oh, and three full laps.....

That... was the longest first lap I've ever seen!

Why can't the remake of this track in Mario Kart 8 be like this?

As a kid who use to play this with my cousins all the time, now about graduate highschool. In a day, i can honestly say this just brought in the feels.

I've seen a lot of those modded tracks for MKWii, but never had any interest in use them since the effort necessary wouldn't be worth, since most of the tracks are badly designed, But, fuck, this one is perfect!

This is Aresome Every time something happened and the Wonderful Music expecially the final lap was really good That is the best N64 Rainbow Road Remake for MkWii

Honestly, this is what I was expecting when they were making N64 Rainbow Road on Mario Kart 8. The way they did it on Mario Kart 8 is way to much and doesn't feel like a retro course.

Man, I wouldn't even know the first part of installing these custom tracks into my copy. If I could, it could certainly tide me over until I can get my hands on Mario Kart 8.

MK8 destroyed N64 Rainbow Road! The curves are all mirrored! The draws on the sky are fireworks! I prefer 100% MKWii remake then MK8 Remake! Cool remake Torran! U got my respect!

I honestly wish this was the last map in the lighting cup, I would replace SNES Mario circuit with N64 Bowser's castle and have N64 Rainbow road as the last map in the game

How to install?

It was really like the original RR from N64... The Chain Chomps going through the course are way more challenging in the N64 version though, moving toward the karts, not like the Chain Chomps in the Wii version moving in one straight direction :)

este circuito es perfecto a pesar de que es largo y no caes, perfecto para desmotrar tu tecnica en el manejo del auto que uses ya que, todos tienen la misma igualdad y nadie se cae jajajajaja

siempre jugaba la copa estrella en el kart 64 solo para jugar está pista al final y siempre con Yoshi (aún que claro, aún no tenía voz como tal y su sonido era el de cuando Mario lo montaba) pero ahora se ve genial y la voz de Yoshi es tierna jaja buena traída de nostalgia men

I think MKWII (as awesome as it is) is the slowest Mario Kart out of the bunch. Playing the retro courses took longer on this game than racing in their respective Games. 8 minutes to beat Rainbow Road? In N64, Rainbow Road was like a 4 1/2 minute race. 5 if your luck sucks and always get hit
