A short movie featuring the four prominent teams of the NA scene and the struggles they've faced in the last year.
The NA LoL scene has been regarded as the weakest scene internationally, but this video shows that CLG, TSM, DIG, and CRS have all had shining moments vs foreign teams, and that despite the internal conflicts they face, they can be proud of their accomplishments and look to the future for more.
Since people have asked, the songs are Fate Zero - Silver Moon, and Fate Zero - To the Beginning by Kalafina (Instrumental)
Thanks to Riot Games, MLG, IEM, IPL, and CLG for the clips used in the video.
Note: I'm sorry that there is so little footage of DIG and CRS compared to the other two teams. It is simply because there is not much high quality footage of these teams vs international teams in the last year. I wanted to use clips no longer than a year, so I couldn't use anything from Dignitas' back to back top 3 placings in IEM Kiev and Hannover

the addition of wildturtle, regardless of your feelings for Chaox, made that team so much better. Plus with the added pressure of Quantic in the LCS i think the NA scene really has a chance to grow this year.

Thank you, it means a lot to know there are Europeans out there who have respect for the NA scene. You just see so much hate from the European community and it's hard to not feel like you're all assholes sometimes. I regret that I felt that way for awhile.

This guy seriously brought a tear to my eye. His videos are amazing. How did he go through so many interviews, so many games to get this great footage? This must've taken so many hours to edit and he deserves more views. Riot, hire this guy please. If this is what he can do with just the scarce amount of footage available to the average esports fan, imagine what he can do with the resources of Riot and the LCS team behind him.

You're probably right, NA is improving but is hampered by a weaker e-sports scene than any of the other regions. Even EU, despite having less money poured into e-sports than China or Korea at least has a semi-decent amateur circuit, NA' had very little regional competition prior to this season, which led to an extremely stale scene. I think it will take at least another year for us to catch up to the other scenes, and it's up to Riot to support the infrastructure required to do so.

5:30 Ocelote: F*** F*** F*** Absolutely my favorite NA victory of all time, after NA is dismissed as a joke in esports, CLG backdoors SK gaming and Ocelote just feels humiliated since SK trains and takes the game a lot more seriously. I screamed tears of joy.

True - there's not a lot of footage for NA teams beating Asian teams. Although there are two cases where NA beat WE that are not here. There's also CLG NA's decent performance in Azubu spring 2012 where they beat LG IM and MVP Blue, as well as one embarrassing instance of Meat Playground (an amateur NA team) beating IG. Do keep in mind NA and Asia never really played each other much prior to 2012. Yes, NA has a bad record vs Asia, but ironically NA's best team TSM has the worst record vs Asia.

No, it;s really not. He could have taken clips from 2012 MLG where NA crushed EU. Or he could have taken clips from all the way back in 2010-2011 where NA won almost every tourny against EU (besides the 2011 WC). Or he could have taken clips from when CLG NA beat LG IM and MVP Blue. Or when Curse beat WE. Or many other times NA teams have overcome the odds to beat Asians or top Europeans.

I really think NA can win as long as the players get along well in the team. SEA, China and Korean allstars will have less time to practise since their "season" is still going on.

I know Azubu blaze went - I was saying that I had forgotten both azubu teams were there, sorry if you misunderstood. However, I'm sorry, gambit can't keep gaming forever, there's a very good chance they don't go into season 4 as people can already tell they're no gaming house with little practice time and large travel time is making them lag behind while also denying them proper time to spend with their loved ones.

Alex had baby at the first lcs week that why they lost 2 games right away, later they got back into their gg way and reclaimed top spot. well they kept flying all first part of the lcs and had no big problems with it. In terms of infrastructure we have the exact smae LCS now and before we more or less went to the same tournaments, we got gaming houses at similar times and most teams in both regions don't have coaches/analysts. However they have a better amateur circuit overall, with more regional tournaments as well as full EU amateur tournaments for teams to compete in. Scarra mentioned the NA amateur scene is getting some help though soon.

i'll reply to your post when NA gets stomped 0:2 and by stomped i mean completely stomped and destroyed in all-stars. lol, m5 protected the honor of europe, na never won a shit against europe to claim their number 1 title. Second, third, 4th- It's still not FIRST. By the way if you didn't know not a one team in season 2 championship considered tsm a threat, actually everyone wanted to pull out tsm- it's pretty much a free win

why so gungho about EU teams anyway? EU teams are not doing all THAT great either. the point of this video is about new hope... knowing that they have been weak lately so they're trying to thrive and be better...it's not about who's a better region NA or EU or the Asians...and if we're pointing out being beaten.. then yes NA has been losing but so what? EU loses to the Asian region.. EVEN the famous gambit gaming was recently beaten by KT Rolster B (Korean team).

The reasons why the NA scene are behind are because the e-sports scene here is the least developed of all the scenes. That's it, that's all. And it's such a fucking cop out as a fellow North American to say "n/a scene are a bunch of kids" and just sit there with your thumb up your ass. You want NA to be taken seriously? Fucking support NA's players, try your hardest to make at least solo queue a more competitive environment. Don't just be like, "ah well, we suck, might as well give up".

but its a sad truth. we all know that na will get stomped in international matches, they catch the metas very slowly, they are slow learners, they more focusing on shows. These wins are pretty much the only ones they got versus international teams- maybe somebody should make a video about how much they got stomped? After s1 , NA was never ever a leading region in league of legends and by never i mean never.

It's Epic to see, how emotional a game can be, when there are pro players, which are crying and giving us a feeling which is just INSANE... I love u guys (no homo) And everything riot messed up with the livestreams the balance patches etc. I DONT CARE We are just humans and i mean look how awesome it is to play such a great game. I still dont understand why people make comparisons like that its bullshit. If that were true, Na wouldn't even be participating in championships. Although i do agree that the EU scene is slightly better than the NA scene i wouldn't say that NA's best players are equal to the worst of EU. If anything, it would most likely be Plat 1 = NA diamond

Wonder what people are going to say in EU once gambit disbands, because that day is coming, Alex Ich has a baby and daimond is considering marriage, they can't keep flying out to LCS every week and stay competitive with all these things going on much longer.

The production level seems on par with what I see watching the LCS. Have you applied to Riot yet? The only critique I have is you showed the clips of Chaox leaving TSM, but later showed him making plays in a tournament. For the sake of consistency, you should make sure you don't bounce around with the timeline. Great job.

The chronological order is wrong. It tells a misleading story of underdogs that came back from the edge. In reality, they sucked, performed well in 1 tourny pre-LCS and then continued to suck. Great video, just wish the story irl reflected the one in the video.

I hope NA is more cheerful after watching this, because they're gonna get stomped in the Allstars match, every single team is significantly better than them, and I'm going to laugh and drink their tears once they get stomped. Deny it all you want, but your team sucks the most out of the bunch.

What? I think people forget there was a time that NA teams were better than all the EU teams except for M5. Just look at the results for IEM Season VI - Global Challenge Kiev and IEM Season VI - World Championship as well as 2012 MLG Spring Championship

Yes they could. They'd lose b01's or b03 sets. But they definitely wouldn't lose 100%. At Katowice (quite recent) Curse beat Gambit. And Gambit is definitely top 10.

I think NA has become better since S2 and will be very good at Worlds! But I don't think NA will beat EU teams like Gambit and Fnatic. I still feel like the top NA teams are at the same lvl as EG and SK.
