Best gift the Air Force gave me was Hawai'i for 3 years and later in life my wife and sons. People look at me like I am insane when I listen to Hawaiian music (I am as haole as they come). LoL the look of locals who move to the mainland or join the AF when I bust out my pigeon is hilarious. They are like WTF?!? Best part is all the family and friends I still have there nearly 20 years later. I miss the islands.
I hear both sides of the argument. The traditionalist want to keep it original. Others put a fresher newer twist to traditional songs in an effort to introduce them to the younger generation. It's not unlike newer artists taking a classic oldie and putting a fresh twist on songs and it actually brings attention back to the original classic version.
This is a beautiful song it reminds me of the islands my parents came from and can't forget who we are and where we came from our culture our language our history two all our loved island people
Aue! I want to meet these three nani wahine, Their voices are so beautiful. If you do not know what they are saying, learn it. It will open you to things you neva knew existed.
