Franklin Cams regrind, matching specs on both intake and exhaust 272° with 8.4mm lift.
Fitted with Maruha cam pulleys, intake set at 108° ATDC, exhaust 110° BTDC.
Running on stock ecu and injectors with 14° base ignition timing and 95 octane.
Exhaust is Maxim works header, 2.25" tubing, one reso and a rear muffler.

Were the cams reground from stock grinds or factory blanks? How did you handle the HLAs if you reduced the base circle of the cams?

Yes stlck cams originally, they took off as much as they could while still being able to use hla's

Still havent dynoed it but feels like less torque down low then really picks its skirts up at 4k

Do you know what the overlap is? The idle sounds pretty good for stock ECU.

Using a calculator its around 54° overlap

Thanks for the reply. Then I think I should be fine with the 30° overlap I'm planning on. Any problems on cold starts?

Should be fine, occasionally on really cold mornings it'll idle rough and sound like a bridgeport rotary but it drives fine

Regrind cost was ~$300nzd from memory, just installed them myself.

@@X7rocks Delta Cams in Washington state, can regrind 1.6 cams. You're best off calling them and discussing the different grinds they offer.

The throttles are silvertop 4age ones, i have considered carburetors but I'd already got the ecu and manifold.

The cams were re-ground by Franklin Cams in NZ, made them with as much duration as we could while still using hydraulic lifters and stock springs.

There is certainly a trick to it, has lightweight flywheel, 6 puk clutch , 6 speed trans, 4.778 diff and i use to daily drive it to work.
