● My new big tribute is ready guys, this time the Us Open Final 2013 between Nadal and Djokovic gets a deep rewind after Australian Open Final 2017 video I made. What a fantastic year for Rafa and Novak too. The tennis quality we had in 2013 was so high with all these epic battles with Wawrinka and Del Potro. I hope you'll enjoy this video !

Thank you so much guys, glad you enjoyed this video. I'll try to continue these videos as long as I can ! To answer few questions I could read, the title I choose is about the whole year of Rafa and not only the finale. It's why at the begining I show his loss againt Rosol in 2012. I didn't add what happened before Wimbledon because I will sûrely make a video on the epic RG semi-final 2013 one day. And finally this video is about both players and not only Nadal, I tried to find a catchy title to give more visibility to my video. So pay only attention to the content and nothing else. The rest doesn't really matter. Thanks again and enjoy this Australian Open 2019 guys ! See you soon.

@@mohamedmtb2751 you are spot on. You put it well. I keep on telling my friends that match is very possibly the best ever on clay - across both 3/5 sets. Novak and Rafa titanic battles at Roland Garros from 2012 to 2014 did not blow me away like Madrid 2009 did. I was on the verge of crying from the sheer superhuman efforts from the two. Rafa had no business winning that Match, because of Novak's effort, but he did somehow with a lot of unbelievable quality shots.

2019 has turned out to be one of Rafa's greatest seasons ever. 2019 is Rafa's second greatest Grand Slam results in a calendar year. 2010 of course is #1. But the 2019 Grand Slam results is F - Winner - SF - Winner. No other Nadal year other than 2010 equals those 2019 Grand Slam results!!! 2008 and 2017 come close but he did better in the 2019 Wimbledon (SF) than 2017 Wimbledon (4th round).

And that's why Nadal is the greatest of all time. He not only had to battle against the greatest hard court player of all time (Novak), he had to battle against injuries, and he won it all. Nobody has had a harder and more difficult path than Nadal which is why his 3 US Open slams, 2 Wimbledons and 1 Australian (6 total slams outside of Roland Garros) is worth more than that number. And on top of all of that, 12 French Slams, the hardest tournament to win as voted by all Legends, players, analysts, the tennis world,......Nadal has beaten prime Roger in Wimbledon finals, beat prime Djokovic in US open finals (twice), they've never beaten him at Roland Garros in the finals. Nadal is the greatest of all time without a doubt. When he's healthy and not battling against his greatest opponent (injuries), he's really the best ever.
@benstarman7947
@benstarman7947 5 лет назад
But Djokovic and Federer are more consistent throughout the season. Nadal gets injured every year. Over half of his titles are on clay. You can’t be the greatest of all time if most of your best results come during clay season which is the longest season. Take away clay from the equation and nothing points to Nadal being the goat. His results on the other 2 surfaces are just not as consistent as Federer and Djokovic
@breakaway2x
@breakaway2x 5 лет назад
@@benstarman7947 But your logic is also flawed because then Roger and Novak can't be considered the greatest if they can't win on clay!! So Nadal is still the greatest because he's more dominant on his surface than they are on theirs AND he's more dominant on THEIR surface then they are on HIS. Nadal wins this anyway you look at it my friend.
@benstarman7947
@benstarman7947 5 лет назад

breakaway2x djokovic and Federer is better on clay than Rafa on hardcourts in my opinion.. you look Federer and djokovic’s titles on clay, they won most of the masters in clay and the French open, whereas nadal has almost no title in indoor seasons.. you can’t be the greatest when you didn’t win any indoors tournament

The AO Final 2012 was the reason why I started watching tennis and it was this match where I became a Nadal fan. Then it was a hot summer in Germany in 2013 and I played tennis with a friend outside when Rafa and Djokovic played that magic semi-final in Roland Garros. When it came to 6-6 in the final set we stopped playing tennis and watched the king winning one of the greatest matches I‘ve ever seen. When Rafa played the semi-final I was sitting in a diner and I was eating chips/French fries and then I got the message that he won. Everybody was like „Novak will win“ but I knew that the king will win it and then I saw the final and Rafa really was winning again so I cried because it was one of my favourite moments of tennis history and Rafas history.

Thank you so much for this brilliant compilation of the tennis greats. Sure it was Rafa's come back but there is no way anybody can deny, that Djokovic was never going to give away a single point willingly. 👍 I understand the immense physicality with which our tennis greats play and strain that they place on their backs, knees, elbows etc but I would really enjoy the input of a physiotherapist analyst of Murray's style of play and what exactly leads to the hip injuries and how it could possibly be prevented. I do know Boris Becker has had 2 hip replacement surgeries. Thank you once again.

It's a powerful ending with Beyonce's "New York" and the last images of night falling over the emptying stadium, its cleansing wind - a little forlorn as the epic contest and furor of the crowd already have started fading into the past - stirring the court as quiet descends and Rafa departs.

For me, the best Grand Slam final that Nadal has played on court ura. I put her as the most important of her career along with the title and final in Wimbledon 2008 and Australian Open 2009. The mentality and the drive she had in this match Nadal was incredible. The match was decided in the third set when Novak was always ahead on the scoreboard: 2-0, 3-1 and with triple break point in the 4-4. Nadal resisted and at that point set for 6-4 is when he tilts the ball in his favor. In the fourth set Djokovic surrenders and the tiredness of the semifinal of 5 sets against Wawrinka takes its toll.

This was happening in the summer of 2013. Meanwhile, 6 years later Djokovic and Nadal are No 1 and 2 in the world and along with Federer who is on 3, are still dominating this sport. Nadal and Djokovic will play the Rome final tomorrow and in doing so, will have their 54th ever meeting and second meeting this year, both in a final. In 2009 in Rome, Federer, Nadal and Djokovic were top 3. 10 years later, the same 3 players are still dominating the tennis world. These 3 giants are making me check the calendar all the time and i almost can't believe this is 2019 because they seem to have made the time stop. We are lucky to witness the best tennis era in human history, and the way these 3 players have joint dominated with so much consistency the tennis world for over 12 years will not be repeatable, at least not in our lifetime. Basically, all 3 together own 98% of all tennis records and they continue to add and change those numbers. I am in awe...I love tennis so much..
