I got my first Marlin when I was a bit older, but I got a good Daisy BB gun at 7, and I could shoot a bug off a flower from a good distance with that little 10 pump. Just about all pistols are semi-auto especially if you were to count a single action revolver. And even semi-auto shotguns would fall under the criteria they are trying to ban.
