Uniqueness of Nagas lies in the fact that Nagas were never part of India nor by conquest nor by consent. Till today Nagas had not accepted the Indian Union. That's the uniqueness of Nagas unlike any others who had been conquered and given consent to join the Indian Union.

The last question...Nagas has not exclude meitei from joining the Naga insurgency, But Nagas from hills opposed to join Indian Union whereas Meiteis allowed to join Indian Union, thats how their history and aspirations separates them.
Yes there is meitei in other parts like Bangladesh, assam Myanmar, tripura, meghalaya etc other than manipur and same applies to nagas there is naga in manipur, Myanmar, assam, arunachal other than nagaland. We can demand autonomy for those separated areas so that the people living in all those minor area enjoy a life with dignity & development. Instead of only opposing other demands, encourage & support your UGs so that there is benefit & development for one and all. Why is always a naga issue a burning topic in manipur?? Wake up everyone! Makhel is not just for Manipur Nagas but it was related to many Nagas in Nagaland too. How can a younger claim the title of being elder Mr Athouba? Even if we go by the folktales meitei was younger to Tangkhul how then can you call all as meitei. Rather you should call yourself Naga. But now not one Naga would like to even call you brother because of what you did to the people of the hill after embracing Hinduism.
