Playfulpanthress Nagisa played by Karma's rules instead of sniping him from the start, therefore Karma "letting him win" doesn't apply since Nagisa did the exact same thing from the start.
tbh i don't think nagisa would really have had the strength to strangle Karma to death since towards the end he's screaming like a pig being slaughtered and Karma is just "okay..."
Most people say that Karma should have won because he had the chance to stab Nagisa, but I somewhat disagree. Karma is a professional in combat, but in the beginning of the fight Nagisa could have just won by shooting Karma with the gun. Nagisa however, wanted a fair head on fight so he dropped the gun. In the end, both Karma and Nagisa had their chances to win, but Karma gave up his.
Flamie i disagree with that last part...both karma and nagisa did what they did to unite the class..karma in the end knew stabbing nagisa wouldent accomplish anything just like nagisa realised shooting karma wouldent do anything either
Flamie Did you read the manga? Karma knows Nagisa. He's good at figuring people out. In the manga he knows that Nagisa won't shoot him out in the open so he challenges to a 1v1 so the fight would finish faster. Karma should have won since he is the most skilled with hand to hand combat. But it's fine since Nagisas the main character so it was pretty obvious he was going to win from the start. If some things were changed like it being a random situation it would be fairer with Karma vs Nagisa
it wasn't about strength, it was about respect. the scene isn't in this video, but karma was walking around the opening pissed off and nagisa could have easily snipped him. the thought even crossed his mind but chose to respect karma by not taking the dirty easy road. instead he willingly left his hiding place and confronted karma. karma did the same without even really thinking about it. he could have easily won at the end, but chose to respect nagisa and not play dirty. the two respect each other greatly and wanted to keep the fight fair.
We all know in an actual assassination Nagisa would win. You could argue Nagisa gave Karma a chance to win since he didn't shoot him at the start this was a fair fight between the 2 strongest in the class in this episode Karma admitted to losing he said he couldn't stab Nagisa for the same reason Nagisa couldn't shoot Karma. Karma knew he lost the moment he was pinned and he wanted a fair fight and got it. Both gave up their chances to kill for that fair fight
Sneasel251 what does the manga say about the fight? When it comes to anime and movies as well I usually don't refer to books or manga since they are obviously going to have a couple differences.
Ralez it showed that karma knew Nagisa wouldn't shoot him if he went out in the open, so karma played off of that so they could end the fight quicker, in a knife fight. If karma didn't walk out in the open karma stated that it would just be a waiting game.
Ralez actually even in the anime karma openly challenged nagisa to a fight knowing nagisa wouldnt shoot him...karma knew nagisa had a gun and was hiding...even nagisa acknowledged the fact...another thing that everyone seems to overlook is the fight itself...unlike what everyone says...the fight is pretty even...you can argur karma is better in hand to hand combact but all nagisa needs to do is get one clear stab...something which is nagisas forte......at the end of the day karma could have killed nagisa but chose not to
You've no idea how glad I am that you added "in my opinion" at the end. Three words that can instantly stop any ridiculous comment war (even from happening at all), but three words that no one bothers to use.
SPOILERS:This is why Nagisa was the best assassin, he cared for Koro sensei more than anyone else did.... so he was the right one. It's all about the feels. He even became a teacher!
boi No... its quite obvious Nagisa was the best assassin due to his inherent bloodlust being far greater than any of the others... They say it... like... all the time...
I dont really ship them but I like their relationship, they understand eachother but they both have different values and are willing to fight for it. They are pretty close and would look out for the other they accept eachother for who they are . They work really well together because they get it and understand .
Yes but what's quite surprising is the way they started being friends. As you say they are both so different and they became close friends just because of ... hum ... wait ... Sonic Ninja ? x) I know that Nagisa secretly admired Karma but, I don't fully get the reason why Karma started being interested in Nagisa. Maybe as he says because he was someone there was no need to be aware of ? Well the reasons don't really matter that's a very particular type of friendship
Thank you! I swear, some people just don't pay attention. Karma challenged Nagisa to a hand to hand fight and he (Karma) lost. If they would pay attention they could clearly see Karma reaching for anything and stumble across the knife. He didn't stab Nagisa because he realized that he (Karma) lost the fight fair and square and using the knife, that just so happen to be near him, would of been wrong.
besides, add to all this (which is actually more than enough to prove nagisa's victory) the fact that nagisa could actually win from the beginning (also fair and square) if he shot him with the gun. but chose to fight him in his own field (face to face fight).
Tbh i have to say this is one of my favorite fights of all time, the expressions, intensity, and choreography of this fight is just lovely and almost give me chills everytime i watch it, also this anime was one of the few i cried too. Absolutely love this anime to death and i might give it a rewatch soon ^^
I like Karma as much as the next chick but like everyone likes Karma. I mean who wouldn't? He's funny, sadistic and not to mention sexy af but like I'm all about Nagisa. But every character is amazing in their own way.
You and the few people who liked your comment are the only ones who care about that. I‘m completely neutral about that, since I don‘t know why „dabbing“ was such a big deal.
Nagisa had, before the fight, a clear shot on Karma from stealth. They both acknowledged this, but each of them knew that wouldn't be a satisfactory conclusion. Karma, in turn, recognized that stabbing him after he showed him that respect would have been a dick move.
+Devan Miller ? What's wrong ? Probably one of the best animes out there in the industry. Animation flawless , the ideologies clashing is amazing. This world isn't witten by kishimoto my child.
for those people said nagisa is strong karma let him self loss because he remember that nagisa is still his best friend and nagisa dont want to fight thats all im a karma akabane fan.
He didn't. If that's the case, Nagisa allowed Karma to fight _at all_. He could've simply ended the fight before it began and shot Karma at the start. If Karma used that knife, it wouldn't have counted as a victory.
+The Siberian yea, but in the hand to hand combat karma would of won, and to me that was more of a team vs team thing. Meaning that the blue team would of won easily if Nagisa just shot Karma, but if it was just Karma vs Nagisa Karma would of won.
When i watch this for the first time i was like. "Are you kidding me? Karma is a pro in combat battle notnonly in combat but also he's technically good at everything while nagisa is a little bit disadvantage. its so unfair!!!" Setting aside what nagisa did in season 1. But after karma is being straggle to death at the end. "Men, i overly underestimated nagisa 🤦♀️😂" Both cant seems to eliminate each other whenever they have chance to. 💕
Fully agree with your list, but there are so many other great animes out there. I'll leave a few: Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica Last Exile Ergo Proxy Serial Experiments: Lain Mekakucity Actors And many more.
Nagisa had no choice but to accept the fight otherwise the class wouldn't be satisfied. Same thing with Karma, he didn't want to stab Nagisa because they wouldn't be satisfied. That was how it was supposed to go, until both Karma and Nagisa both agreed that Karma was holding back during their fight. Judging from the fight, a non-serious Karma already knocked Nagisa around like nothing, now imagine if Karma went in full power.
That's not true, Karma was serious during that fight hence the "If I take these blows wrong, I'll be inked for sure". Nagisa beat Karma fair and square. Now imagine what would have happened IF Nagisa went the ASSASSIN route instead of accepting the hand to hand fight (which Nagisa won at the end)? Karma wouldn't see it coming and he knew it. That's why he challenged Nagisa, but he still lost in the end. If you pay attention closely at the end you'll realize the "OH SHIT... I'm fucked" face Karma made when Nagisa put him in that hold. And then Karma was frantically reaching around and LUCKILY found the knife, but he knew if he used it it would count as a victory, because he had already lost the fight.
Rewatch the episode. After the fight, Nagisa said "Karma, your blows were awfully weak compared to before." Karma then noogied Nagisa and said "You know I was pulling back my punches." That dialogue was easy to miss.
this was a battle of pride, both fighters adjusting their fighting style, stats and mindset to make this an all out even playing field for both of them so that no matter who won there will be no shred of dispute among them. Nagisa chose to opt for the hand to hand combat where was weakest at against karma who's specialty was close combat. Karma on the other hand weakened his punches and took blows that he could have dodged in respect to Nagisa taking him head on. In the end if karma chose to stab nagisa right there, it would have been karma's loss because on his own playing field he lost to someone who was so much weaker than him physically.
It was about ideology. Once Karma made it a hand-to-hand fight (by calling out Nagisa) he couldn't stab Nagisa in that underhanded way (he would have betrayed his own principles). The only way Karma could have won rightfully was if he broke out of the chokehold and then beat Nagisa. He couldn't do this, so he lost.
